Those were the days, when your Craftsman tool broke (no, they did sometimes, really) you'd take it back to Sears and get a replacement for free.

Got a couple of drill bits like that. They won't fit in any of my power tools, you really do have to use the hand crank.

It's a reamer. For making holes in wood by turning it, sort of like a drill bit.

Fun fact: It's still used to describe an access hole in a barrel, or drum. At work, I sell stuff that sometimes comes in 55gal drums. I regularly have to explain what a bunghole is to people who have never worked with drums before, because they think I am being vulgar at first.

That's hilarious that an entire generation of morons(my generation) only heard the word bunghole from Beavis and Butthead.

I make my own moonshine because I can't even afford alcohol but still need the my brain to produce at least some happiness chemicals at least sometimes. Bungs are fucking useless. They don't stay put, they just slowly wiggle out of their hole after 2-3 days. It's hard enough to jury rig a bung to stay put in a hole that the effort is better spent coming up with a different type of airlock system that doesn't involve bungs.
