What's a really popular TV show you just couldn't get into?

office, walking dead, ISAIP season 13+ only, Nutrek its just so bad and its a disrespect to the continuity of the franchise and roddenberrry, plus KURTZMAN has said he doesnt care about consistency(it was pretty clearly when your stealing or lifitng material directly from memory wiki alpha and beta site), which why it became pure garbage. GOT, ROP i assume people also think its terrible too.

I'm sorry! I'm a trekkie so I really wanted to love it. I can't stand Seth McFarlane, though, and apparently it isn't just his animated shows like Family Guy or American Dad that I hate.
if it wasnt in the show it wouldve been fine, but him being part of the cast makes the series questionable, hes not that good as actor, hes better at writing. ALso problems around him being involved with the writing has caused the series to barely make seasons in general, this has caused financial problems for some of the actors, and production too. having 36 episodes in 6 years is pretty bad. this was all from pallacki interview on michaels podcast.

I started watching Star Trek because I loved The Orville. I didn't know people had such hatred for it.
nutrek is pretty bad to be honest. the animated series is much better than thier 3 series.

I really don't care for cringe humor where everyone is an idiot.
isaip s13 and on, is pure cringe, the actors even into the show anymore. s1-11 was the best though, i think its was for the audience that grew up with the series.

Also Mob Psycho 100 (same studio I think)
I watched Attack on Titan and thought it was ok. If you want to watch some good anime I thoroughly recommend the above
AOT took way too long to finish such a short series, no need to extend like almost 10years.

people had problems with it being a white-centric show in NYC of all places. also unrealistic as it was an expensive city and they dont look like they can afford the places.

Yellowstone. I wanted to like it because Americans riding horses and doing cowboy gun things is a vibe, and I wanted to get that without actually having to travel there and be around Americans. It’s just so bad though.
conservative white people love the show.

Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones
Couldn’t get past a season and the fandoms are just obnoxious.
I really like (most of) game of thrones, but it's a tough watch at times for sure. Breaking Bad on the other hand seemed to be nothing but a tough watch. Stopped watching when the mom starts smoking while pregnant. It was just too much, unrelenting misery for me. I can see it's a really well made show, that deserves the praise, but I just can't stomach it.

The vast majority of them as I don't really watch movies or tv-series at all. Every time I give one a chance it ends up being a dissapointment and then I'm just less likely to try again.
I prefer YouTube.

It's a great series but I agree, there's a lot of depressing vibes. I binged it recently and ended up being getting paranoid riding trains haha
I watched it cause it was interesting to explore a scenario where the top 1% was targeted, especially considering what's happening in the world right now.

The Leftovers. Tried twice.
On my second try I enjoyed it...until the final season.
The show probably got different writers at that point. Whatever happened, everything previously built was just scrapped. It's like they made a list of random outlandish ideas, then shuffled and tried to connect them.
If they had brought it all home it would have been a good, offbeat kind of show.

It starts so boring. I barely made it through the first season and some of the second. It was sooooooo fucking dull that I gave up on it around the time what's his name dies in the desert.

They lost me when they introduced so many new city characters in one episode and it became too much about teen romance and rebellion. I think this was start of second season.
Oh, when eleven runs away to the city? It gets even better: none of that shit comes back up again.
But it absolutely does keep leaning into teen romance. I always felt it was a decent show but overrated, and it dropped off hard.

The office is very worth, you just have to struggle through season 1. 2 and beyond are fucking gold and very rewatchable.

So my intuition was correct. I have realised that I am the beat judge of what content I will like. Reviews are useless because 99% of the time highly rated things are mediocre.
