Nah, they'll kill each other because their whole motivation in life is to "win." Then - once they've ensured nobody else can take their title of "last one standing" - maybe they'll kill themselves... eventually.

They're going to destroy the earth. Kill themselves. They can't run somewhere else.

It seems that Trump will disband the time travel research group next week.

They'll save themselves by promising him they can send just his so-called "consciousness" back to occupy the body of some rugged, handsome, & strapping young lad.

What a wild counter-idea. "Go back in time and kill Hitler": played out.
"Go back in time and clash with the invading aliens who have sent their own people back in time to destroy us from the past by installing players that will wreck us as a species over time": oh. As I say it, this is half-way to This is How You Lose the Time War

It’s really a term from statistics. It’s the same as an exponential growth rate, but you only take the value of the exponential function at discrete intervals.

If you had a function you wanted to graph like 2^x^, exponential growth is like saying x can be any real number (even a fraction or something) and every part of the line you draw is counted, but geometric growth would be a discrete value for x like [1, 2, 3, …, n] where x is from that interval pattern. It’s useful in statistics for measuring data based on something like time. The examples I was taught were like cells splitting in two at a fixed time interval. You can still draw the graph like it’s a single curve to visualize it, but the actual data points are at discrete values for x and just not in between.

I haven’t had a stats or math class in a long time, but I believe this is correct enough from a quick scan of Wikipedia.

Thry literally can't. Aside from the ideological 'capitalism functions by exploiting and destroying things outside other consideration, like your mom giving you money for your lemonade stand'

Making a planet habitable is hard. Just from the considerations we know; it sort of can't be done and the parts we think are theoretically possible would take centuries at minimum, even if we did figure out how'. Earth's all we got and pretending otherwise is a fucking delusion.

Capitalism has another century at most. Afyer that, earth won't support life anymore.

Which maybe isn't even a bad thing-imagine if there's other intelligent life out there snd a humanity that survives by incrwasing exploitation, by pillaging across every planet we find, always looting, like a swarm if great interstellar locusts rather than figuring its shit out came across that intelligent life.

I've had some thoughts about that recently. I strongly suspect that evolution kinda forced us to turn out this way, and that any other intelligent species (at least non-telepathic ones) would likely evolve similarly. Telepathy - if actually possible - is the only thing I think would force a significantly different evolutionary path (at the likely cost of individuality).

I'm just some rando who has absolutely zero expertise in this area, so I'm probably wrong. After spending a huge proportion of my life privately trying to understand humans, I have a hard time seeing it happening much differently, tho.

Dude, it's not fucking evolution. We're not naturally like this. You're trying to understand humans, but its like the 'alpha wolf' thing.

This is the behavior capitalism authoritarianism and a life that knows nothing but bondage creates in humans. Break that, and you get different behavior.

Once fear is learned, insecurity and bullying are inevitable follow-ons for too many that create the overcompensating aggressive types, and the eager-to-please ass-kissers who learn to conform to survive & convince themselves it's "the way." You'd have to somehow eliminate all that, which is all but impossible, IMHO.

The strongest evidence for time travel being possible is that there have been 42 assassination attempts on Hitler

All those attempts, and Hitler's actual assassin didn't get paid for his very nice shot.

                                      Fear is not one thing.

Insecurity probably, bullying no-might happen sometimes but not inevitable, definitely a high cultural value.

Ass kissing conformists are a problem, but not necessarily terminal.

We don't all need to be perfect to have a better world. That's a fucking excuse.

Bullying will always be there even if society actively frowns upon it, and tries to cancel it. There are always exceptions, and they will learn how to manipulate to get what they want. They are often sociopaths, and those with the charisma and smarts to con people will find ways subvert any systems meant to keep them in their place, or from doing harm to the larger whole of society.

I'm not looking for perfection, nor making excuses. I'm trying to address in a realistic fashion the actual deeply-rooted causes of humanity's propensity for self-destruction.
