Also, one huge Pro to not having a tesla is not having to worry about it blowing up for no reason.

Or (hopefully?) not having private stuff the car recorded passed around the company's office for chuckles.

Even fucking goldfish remember what he's done. He has irreversibly associated Nazism with Tesla at the same time that cheaper and better electric vehicles are coming out of China. The only way is down and that's not going to change until he is no longer part of Tesla and a lot of time has passed.

Cheaper and better EVs are here from lots of European, Korean, and (to a lesser degree) American brands.

It's been a long time since was "the only choice".

In Europe at least, Chinese cars.

Last month on my neck of the woods, YoY car sales were up 16% and yet Tesla was down 68% this month alone, while BYD was up 331,6% (yes, 3 digits).

With these changes, Tesla isn't even in the top 10 anymore (at one point it was #2!) and has been leapfrogged by BYD, who seems very likely to continue climbing and break into the top 3 sellers.

          Tesla is dead.

In Europe, European cars are a better choice than Teslas.

Unless he steps down as CEO and sells all his shares I don't see a Tesla redemption arc in Europe anytime soon.

Honestly, if he can get them to switch from those gas guzzlers to Teslas, that would still be better. But for that to work, the brand has to be utterly reviled by any "libtards". So keep sinking Tesla and let the Nazis rescue it.

Europeans still aren't buying Teslas with figures out Wednesday showing sales plunged for a fifth month in a row in May, a blow to investors who had hoped anger toward Elon Musk would have faded by now.

Tesla sales fell 28% last month in 30 European countries even as the overall market for electric vehicles expanded sharply, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association. The poor showing comes after Tesla's billionaire CEO had promised a “major rebound” was coming last month, adding to a recent buying frenzy among investors.

They were selling on Wednesday, pushing the prices down more than 4% in early afternoon trading.

Could I have a list of these "investors?" Because they sound like fools who deserve to be tricked out of their money.

Do you have numbers? Because Chinese cars are growing by triple digits because they were basically at 0, the numbers I saw recently VW, stellantis, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes were in the top 10.

Regarding the other brands - some cars, like the very popular Dacia Spring, are not manufactured by Dacia in Europe but 100% by Dongfeng in China.

The Chinese brands are on the rise and those are not just the relative numbers but the absolute numbers too. The data for Q2 shall be there in a few days, I guess it’s worth to wait for it

Well, I think it confirms what I said, BYD barely making it to the top 10 with 7k units sold while Volkswagen group has 3 of the top 4 brands (for EVs) with 50k units sold. Plus BMW, Mercedes, Renault and Hyundai groups. Chinese cars are growing by a lot of % because they had a minuscule market share. As of today, they are still a small part of the market, let's see where they land when they stabilize.

That would also tank the stock price though.

Short term yes but I think they could quickly recover beyond where they are now if Tesla managed to keep some good press coming.

Like I said, it's been a minute, but BYD isn't available in the US; looks like Mercedes offers 4 SUV/crossover models starting at $55k and 2 sedans starting at $75k; Kia is all SUV; Hyndai has one sedan and two crossovers. Ford is crossover/truck; GM is all SUVs. More than there were, but non-Tesla sedans are still the exception. I'd love to see BYD in the US. Love to see KEI in the US.

The Mini EV is in the US, but its range is just adequate. Then there's older models, like the Bolt or Leaf. Ford has an EV Transit van for commercial customers, but its range also sucks.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 is out there, at least.

Yeah, the US market for EVs is bad. Just SUVs and trucks with few exceptions. Not even a good (mini) van.

It’s not rare for the first company to bring a product to market to not be the top dog once other companies get involved.

Except Tesla wasn't the first mass market EV. It wasn't even the second. The first would be the GM EV1 in 1997:

Many would argue that the EV1 doesn't count because it was on old technology. Fine then, the Nissan Leaf from 2009 then sporting its lithium battery:

Tesla Model S brought performance, range and styling that both of those were missing. However, we don't need Tesla anymore in the world if Musk is still benefiting from it.
