It really is the worst when shitbags like this take what could be a useful, healthy nugget of advice and paint over it with their antisocial garbage.
For all people, having a "mission" in life, finding a purpose, and having something to look forward to are all generally good things that are good for you.
Your mission that you look forward to does not need to be any specific thing that some scumbag who does not care about you prescribes.
For those of us who want families and have them, and considering that we are a social species, it also turns out that your partner, your kid(s), and your immediate environment that you can control (home) can be a pretty significant and rewarding part of your purpose each day!
It's just a part of how conservatives think that they can claim a monopoly on family values while actively destroying families left and right. Which in turn is part of their warped view of the world where to love X means hating that which is non-X.
I have the most traditional looking family you can imagine. It works great for us, and I say fuck messages like the one in the OP that say our individual paths to fulfillment must look alike.
Many of our paths DO look alike, because there are billions of us living in the same world, and that's why it's worth sharing anecdotes and advice while we shout down the "thou shalt" garbage.

Does that work? I've tried:
- Pretending I'm hearing disabled(problematic, I know)
- Telling them to eat shit and die
- Speaking really fast and fiercely in a made up language
- Keep asking "What was that?" until they stop trying
By far the most successful was when walking home with a bag of meal worms(for my pet tarantula,) I dumped them on his lap and ran away.
Sometimes if i nail the acting. Im pretty good at uncanny.
I always want to kick them in the balls and then smile genuinely, but only ever did that once.

Well... after reading his site, I can't say he's that much of a moron. Unconventional beardist, for sure. Everything he says is pretty spot-on IMO, having a lot of personal experience in that area.

Actually the reason life is such utter shit and the world is spiraling into chaos is BECAUSE of the patriarchy. There is a vast majority of "normal people" that don't care about much else besides having sex and raising kids. When you've chosen to spend your life supporting a family, you don't have room to give a single flying fuck about the dangers authoritarianism, gay/trans rights, concentration camps and general cruelty governments and corporations are always comitting against the masses. Even pretending to care about this stuff can undermine your ability or freedom to raise a family in some places. This leaves the rest of us on our own to fight the obviously losing battle with all the miserable pieces of human trash that want life to be hard "because fuck you that's why/suffering brings people closer to God".
