Horst Wessel shot and killed at Utah Valley University event.
I need this Onion article.

Life is stranger than fiction. Yes, the timing worked out, that doesn’t mean fuck all. This isn’t a movie, and sometimes timing can be unintentionally poetic. The shooter could hear them, too, and may have decided that was the moment they wished to fire the shot on their own accord. Those types of questions are asked all the time at these shitty debates, it’s not even remotely special and it’s even a topic that is one of the core things Kirk pushed pretty heavily.
Everyone’s making up all kinds of conspiracies when the highly likely, nearly guaranteed, reality is that it was someone who came to the conclusion that the systems present in the US would not only do nothing to punish Kirk for his hate but in fact reward him for it. The same thing happened to a certain health insurance CEO for the same reason. They took the law into their own hands because the law does exist to serve victims, only oppressors.
Yes, this means the violence all too present in the US has finally come to white conservatives. Deal with it.

By your tone, it sounds to me like you think i don't wholeheartedly agree. Which is incorrect.

I'm surprised no one made the same joke first. Guess I'm ahead of the game.
Really stuck your neck out on that one.

Surely the sniper was stopped by all the people conceal carrying though? I'm told that lots of guns makes everything ever so much safer.
Nah, they need students with snipers in good high locations to scout for the bad guys with guns

He died doing what he loved, making excuses for gun violence.
He wasn't making excuses. He was trying to frame trans people as the cause.
-
Dude ran his mouth. That’s what he did. No one should die for that.
What someone says does not exist in a vacuum. His rhetoric encouraged gun violence and vilified empathy. He played a not insignificant part in violently radicalizing fascists, ones that have already been killing or showing actionable intent to kill. He wanted me and others like me to be eradicated from society EXPLICITLY and by running his mouth convinced his base that this was for the best by painting us as child groomers and pedophiles, thereby stirring even more violence in the shocking number of people that listened to him.
He wanted me and those like me to not exist. I'm glad he stopped existing before he could make that a reality. If it's monstrous to be relieved about one less person advocating for my eradication, then I suppose I'm as monstrous as they come.

They can try. But declaring martial law nationally over one shooting is a huge escalation. The idea is to ramp up slowly. One city, one state. And trying to start that process in Utah isn’t going to work well. Utah has their own cult, which isn’t fully behind Trump. There’s a risk of a schism. The Mormons are heavily armed, historically militant, and have a desire to form their own nation.
They already started elsewhere.

Not legally and not by the founders of the country. Only religous morons think that.
Sadly, there are a lot of religous morons in the US...

It's not the law, but it is from the founders' cassus belli. Also in there is this
He has endeavoured to prevent the Population of these States; for that Purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their Migrations hither, and raising the Conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the Tenure of their Offices, and the Amount and Payment of their Salaries.
He has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harrass our People, and eat out their Substance.
He has kept among us, in Times of Peace, Standing Armies, without the consent of our Legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a Jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our Laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For quartering large Bodies of Armed Troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from Punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all Parts of the World:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us, in many Cases, of the Benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended Offences:

I have never seen a person get shot in person (I’ve seen those videos too) but I have hunted pigs and kangaroos, bullet wounds really aren’t portrayed well in media.
What’s funny to me is that American conservatives will argue that you can’t have guns in Australia. You can. We have guns and… no school shootings. No politicians being assassinated.
Charlie Kirk spouted all kinds of bullshit about my country. I’m very happy he won’t be doing that anymore.
See, guns can solve problems!

and in some ways it was a good thing.
It is. It really should be a prerequisite for gun ownership: you have to kill something.
That is a threshold I can't personally cross, so I don't think I should own a gun (and I dont).
Ehhhh, I wouldn't be for making death a prerequisite. That's just ending life for no good reason. Of course senseless death happens all the time, but normalizing and requiring it is a hell of a choice...
-
The left is notoriously unarmed while the right is the reason our gun ownership is so high. At a time when the right threatens to take more and more away, this feels like a poor choice. Personally I agree with a very prominent leftist that the working class must be armed, and I feel that as those on the left we need to see the writing on the wall. The united states does not appear to be going a more peaceful direction, and if we want to keep having any rights for the workers at all we need to be ready to frustrate any attempt to disarm or otherwise neutralize us. In a world where the right does not threaten to take guns from trans folks or keep us from using our right to organize, we can talk about gun control again. Sadly we are sliding away from that so fast that I can't imagine where we will be at the end of this presidency.
We can still talk about sensible gun control. Key word being sensible.

I think this quote is him explicitly saying he'd be okay with his own death too.
wrote on last edited by [email protected]I don't. He gave Farquaad vibes.

Jesus Christ, when someone said a fountain i thought they were playing it up
There are several liters of blood in a full sized adult. I don't understand how people are so shocked by a cup or two's worth.

Dude you are sick
Our citizenry is headed right toward authoritarian dystopia. I think what we have in store is worse than death. If you were trans and black right now, you would not defend them. They are causing anxiety and suffering, and they absolutely do not care about the Genocide in Gaza. This surveillance state, widening inequality, constant war, rampant racism, homophobia, and everything else they are doing will destroy us all. We have no future. That is sick to me. Psychopaths win every time. These will too. I am just holding off until I need to die.

Stuck to his guns
and the guns stuck

What do do think Civil wars are then?
Those aren't about murdering fellow citizens because of what they say.
-
Those aren't about murdering fellow citizens because of what they say.
That's news to me.
Because Civil wars are fought between fellow citizens and usally about positions those people have espoused.

Yes i know, but it's not something you see everyday in HD and close up.
Most of the gore videos I saw as a teen didn't even come close to how clear this was and i saw a cartel beheading video.

That's the point. A gun's purpose is to kill.
And I was thinking of the victim being an animal that needs to be euthanized or something.
