      What someone says does not exist in a vacuum. His rhetoric encouraged gun violence and vilified empathy. He played a not insignificant part in violently radicalizing fascists, ones that have already been killing or showing actionable intent to kill. He wanted me and others like me to be eradicated from society EXPLICITLY and by running his mouth convinced his base that this was for the best by painting us as child groomers and pedophiles, thereby stirring even more violence in the shocking number of people that listened to him.

      He wanted me and those like me to not exist. I'm glad he stopped existing before he could make that a reality. If it's monstrous to be relieved about one less person advocating for my eradication, then I suppose I'm as monstrous as they come.

        They can try. But declaring martial law nationally over one shooting is a huge escalation. The idea is to ramp up slowly. One city, one state. And trying to start that process in Utah isn’t going to work well. Utah has their own cult, which isn’t fully behind Trump. There’s a risk of a schism. The Mormons are heavily armed, historically militant, and have a desire to form their own nation.

            I have never seen a person get shot in person (I’ve seen those videos too) but I have hunted pigs and kangaroos, bullet wounds really aren’t portrayed well in media.

            What’s funny to me is that American conservatives will argue that you can’t have guns in Australia. You can. We have guns and… no school shootings. No politicians being assassinated.

            Charlie Kirk spouted all kinds of bullshit about my country. I’m very happy he won’t be doing that anymore.

              It is. It really should be a prerequisite for gun ownership: you have to kill something.

              That is a threshold I can't personally cross, so I don't think I should own a gun (and I dont).

              Ehhhh, I wouldn't be for making death a prerequisite. That's just ending life for no good reason. Of course senseless death happens all the time, but normalizing and requiring it is a hell of a choice...

                The left is notoriously unarmed while the right is the reason our gun ownership is so high. At a time when the right threatens to take more and more away, this feels like a poor choice. Personally I agree with a very prominent leftist that the working class must be armed, and I feel that as those on the left we need to see the writing on the wall. The united states does not appear to be going a more peaceful direction, and if we want to keep having any rights for the workers at all we need to be ready to frustrate any attempt to disarm or otherwise neutralize us. In a world where the right does not threaten to take guns from trans folks or keep us from using our right to organize, we can talk about gun control again. Sadly we are sliding away from that so fast that I can't imagine where we will be at the end of this presidency.

                        Our citizenry is headed right toward authoritarian dystopia. I think what we have in store is worse than death. If you were trans and black right now, you would not defend them. They are causing anxiety and suffering, and they absolutely do not care about the Genocide in Gaza. This surveillance state, widening inequality, constant war, rampant racism, homophobia, and everything else they are doing will destroy us all. We have no future. That is sick to me.                                 Yes i know, but it's not something you see everyday in HD and close up.

                                Most of the gore videos I saw as a teen didn't even come close to how clear this was and i saw a cartel beheading video.

                                        Yes, the goals cannot be violent. That doesn't mean violence cannot be extremely useful when applied tactfully.
