    Summary

The EU and UK fined major carmakers nearly €600 million for operating a recycling cartel exposed by Mercedes-Benz, which avoided penalties for whistleblowing.

The European Commission fined 15 manufacturers and their association €458 million for fixing costs and limiting advertising of car recycling from 2002 to 2017.

Volkswagen received the largest fine at €127 million. The UK imposed an additional £77.7 million in fines.

Authorities say the cartel suppressed eco-friendly competition and misled consumers. All companies admitted guilt in exchange for reduced fines.

Arrest them instead. Decision makers and shareholders are responsible.

        And the arrests?

Where are the CEO's in handcuffs?

If I pull this shit on a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the level that they did, I'd still go to jail, so why don't they?

And don't give me the "but we need car makers" excuse, CEO's are replaceable

Don't give me the "but we can't definitely prove they knew", they are the CEO's, that OS what you're paid millions for, right?

WHEN ARE WE FOING TO JAIL THE RICH CRIMINALS?

It's so frustrating to have to read that a bunch of rich criminals get away with yet another criminal act and only got a fine which will be paid by the consumer anyway. I can fucking guarantee you that these criminals got a nice bonus for restricting the damage, so for their crimes, they get paid.

And then police wonders why people like Luigi appear? I'm not saying I would do what he may have done, but I am saying that yeah, I fully understand and I fully agree with it. If the justice system refuses to give these criminals the penalties that they give to us, then we'll just have to do something ourselves. What other option is left?

Seriously, governments over the world: if you don't want vigilantes killing CEO's then START FUCKING JAILING CRIMINAL CEO'S AND MANAGERS FOR FUCK SAKE!

In the US I'd be happy if they even fined companies for this. The current administration doesn't want to hold corporations accountable at all, unless it's for "DEI" practices. Whenever I see news like this it makes me want to move to the EU.
