Before they're charged, the brothers must be extradited from Romania. That won't happen until a criminal case there is settled.
They'd somehow have to escape from where they're being held in Romania and get to the US before that would do them any good.

While it could be done, it would be a lot for little political payoff.
I wouldn’t write it off as a possibility but it would surprise me even with this administration.

They went back on time though. I checked up on that at the time because I was expecting them to be fugitive afterwards.
