I still can’t get over Varg chosen us, the Turkish people as his blood brothers like 10 years ago.

The guy is a nazi in his own words. Or rather, he wrote that he stopped considering himself a nazi because he doesn't agree that Slavs are subhumans, only the other groups.
Though Filosofem is soooo good. It really sucks that some of the best music was made by some of the worst people.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]It's a common theme in metal. Some of the biggest inspirations to me musically ended up being some of the most vile humans
Jon nodtveidt (dissection), Dagon (inquisition), Famine (peste noire), John Haughm (Agalloch, but appears to have changed in his older age), Werwolf (Satanic Warmaster), mikko aspa (deathspell, one of the worst there is), etc etc
I have come to think that dark music such as this does sometimes come from a place of true evil. Boycotting doesn't really work when it comes to extreme metal else you just miss out on the true gems of the genre
People say "just don't listen to Inquisition" but it's like, I already learned guitar thanks to Dagon, and it's completely baked into my guitar playing now that I can't simply undo it

And for some reason his new band is called Burzum NEW
Like that's the actual title he's going by now https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Burzum/The_Mound_of_Fire/1337480

Well, shit. I hadn't known about Inquisition. I think the last time I saw them was something like 2016? At least I only have the one t-shirt.
I haven't heard anything about Agalloch; what's going on there?
