Doesn't needing an external consulting company (which doesn't know the company nor industry as intimately) just show that the management doesn't know their shit?
In my experience, it is also an indication that they want to blame someone else for their actions.

Retail... unions. Sadly at least the major retail chains would rarher close the store than allow a union.
There are some union retail jobs and in time hopefully more can join on. Whether its part of UFCW or another. We must band together and fight for our rights.

Indeed. This is their job and they're using company resources to pay someone else to do it for them.
