When someone is banned, their posts are automatically deleted, it’s not some crazy admin obsession to ‘purge your entire history’. Nope. That's not how it worked at the time. I even still have screenshots of being able to see banned users posts still there from around this time. My comments specifically showed "removed by mod". I just checked and I can still see a post by an alt I made shortly after being banned (which was also banned). This story does appear to be “an admin abused their power to ban me, then that admin got banned for being caught abusing their power”. Which is not uncommon in online communities. That is not remotely what happened. The person in question continued to be a mod for some time. Their eventual banning had nothing to do with what happened to me or others. There were multiple mods acting this way around this timeframe against many users on the site, so they'd all have had to ban themselves for the same behaviour.

my favorite used to be a sauce named "amor" that was primarily centered around southern california and baja california. it was a little bit like cholula, but w MUCH stronger vinegar punch to it and it makes my mouth water every time i think about it on top of chips or other snacks; sort of like frank's hot sauce if it were more sour and more picante at the same time. the brand still exists, but their recipe changed significantly about 20-ish years ago and i've been unable to find anything like it to call my favorite.

Point at a perfectly functioning thing on my server, blow it up, relearn and fix the thing. An IT friend of mine said “your home server should be like a zen garden
”. I was taken aback. Where else would I get to play with all the new shit I need to learn eventually? Surely not in production. And the home server is meant to serve up distractions not files. I miss adderall.

Thank you!! đŸ«‚ They harassed me, spread rumors about me, dehumanized me, made fun of my weight, tried to get me to hurt and starve myself, tried to get me to have no friends, and tried to get me to suffer. They came up with reasons for these things because of my behaviors which they accused me of stalking them and being weird all because I’m autistic and tried to start a conversation with them.

My friend is a locksmith and if your area is not overcrowded and you can keep a good company running it's really good. People pay a lot of money to get back into their car at 6am but also every building needs a lock and the locks need maintenance. It's a real business though as the trade aspect of cutting a key or opening a door isn't difficult at all. The challenge is running business, accounting and all the certifications and associated protocols. With all that said, it can get crowded real fast so this all only works if you're one of 3 locksmiths in town at most.

I would add Rebels. First season is a liiiiittle more kid friendly and toned down than it really needed to be, the rest of it is fantastic and finished the story of Darth Maul.

For me it was more like: Ages 11-16: unaware sad cringe Ages 17-24: learning to hide it Ages 25-27: reaching achievement mountain, followed by Age 28: quarter life crisis valley and the realization Ages 29-now: unlearning to hide it and actually feeling good Life is a beautiful journey. Just need to look with the right eyes.

I’m using Wheeler’s version of the MWI, because it currently seems to be the most common one—but I think Wheeler’s version is a misunderstanding of Everett’s. So if that’s what you mean, I agree (although in that case I’d say “the Everettian interpretation” instead of “many worlds theory”).

Related: 12-hour AM/PM time, at least in written language, is dumb compared to 24-hour time. I don't want to have to infer from context if 8 is morning or evening. Build that disambiguation into the written time, ffs!

Good for gaining an outside perspective/insight on an argument, discussion, or other form of communication between people. I fed it my friend’s and their ex’s text conversation to it (with permission), and it was able to point out emotional manipulation in the text when asked neutrally about it: Please analyze this conversation between A and B and tell me what you think of their motivations and character in this conversation. Is there gaslighting? Emotional manipulation? Signs of an abusive communication style? Etc. Or is this an example of a healthy communication? It is essential not to ask a leading question that frames A or B in particular as the bad or the good guy. For best results, ask neutral questions. It would have been quite useful for my friend to have this when they were in that relationship. It may be able to spot abusive behaviors from your partner before you and your rose-colored glasses can. Obvious disclaimers about believing anything it says are obvious. But having an outside perspective analyze your own behavior is useful.

It's a piece of software which runs on your computer. If you find a so-called "web app" which runs in your browser, two things may be happening: 1) Someone took the effort to port an open source app (like InkScape) to run in a browser 2) You are using someone's hosted service and they steal your information as the fee. There's also the option of taking your file to one of your local print shop, where they make it into a poster and charge you some fee. You either pay money or effort.
