Dull Men's Club

An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men’s Club.

dullmensclub.com

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I've learned that if it is just the top speed that is slow, it's a replacement capacitor behind the light switch. If all speeds are slow, it's the whole fan to be replaced. (We live in a warm place, and fans run 24/7 in some of our rooms, so we go through this process at least yearly for at least one of our fans)

I did that with my parents to install a fence in their backyard. We had to digl 36" to 48" deep for the frost if I remember correctly. We also hit bunch for tree roots, rocks, and all types of bricks and stuff from previous renovations they used to fill up the land. I found that adding water in the hole with a hose really helped when it was stuck, but you'll end up covered in mud. Great work bud!

Aw ya even with an adventure bike, mud ends all 2 wheel adventures. I have a surron and even though it handles off road like a charm, mud just ends it all. Think of the scratches as patina! Shows you used the bike for its purpose. Maybe buy a fancy lever! A colourful one

No power probably means a missed connection. Check the SWI PSU switch, check your front headers, make sure you remembered the 12v CPU 4-pin power, check for loose screws.

I leave yelp reviews in order to help improve the restaurant and warn/recommend the place to other lurkers who aren't contributing at all.

There isn't a low spot that gathers water on the intended side of the trail though.

Fair enough - I suppose it's a caution borne out of experience of the awful roads by me - I've had a lot of unsealable punctures on the roads near me (from gashes to a bit of glass that wiggled around just enough to not seal). As a result I always caveat advice to go tubeless - for "proper" punctures (anything more serious than a pin prick or snakebite) tubeless can be a can of worms, and give people a sense of confidence that inner tube users don't have (wisely). Granted it's also down to tyre choice (you can pry my patched panaracers from my cold dead hands) but a tyre pissing sealant and air is much more of a hassle to deal with than an inner tube in my experience.

I wish that were the case, but I also have a VLAN'd virtual interface with a different SSID on the 2.4 radio and it's not discovering that or the other SSIDs around the neighborhood that I'd normally see. But it's an interesting point, I hadn't encountered that one before.

I had a dryer like that. Ancient thing. Simple as fuck too, unlike modern dryers with 1000 features. I replaced just about every part on that thing, sometimes multiple times. Finally the control board broke and it started turning on the heating elements without running the fan. Damn dryer tried to burn my house down. Can't get the boards anymore. I almost shed a tear putting that dryer to the curb.
