    May as well find some communities to contribute to and try to make inviting, then. Lemmy should have communities for everything, like Reddit does. We just need more people in the interesting niche communities so they can stand out from the constant meme/shitpost flow.

    I've never worked as a server but I did date one long ago who said something to the effect, "that $5 means more to her than you" and while I was not nearly as financially stable back then, that idea has stuck with me. An extra isn't going to make or break my day but it could make someone else's day. Another way I've been thinking about this is how for a brief moment you someone's "boss." If you've ever complained about unfair compensation what does it say about you that you're using than brief moment of power to be what you hate.

    I dont make enough to afford a shrink, But I do get one day a sick leave per month to use when I can't get out of bed. Trust me, I would love to see a head doctor, But this is the best I can do right now It doesn't mean I don't have mental illness it means i'm doing the best I can with what I got

    Even then, career tracking absolutely can and does take on a segregationist character when the wages of the labor make access to certain career paths a purchasable privilege. And yet it appears in most countries, including Communist ones like China. This isn't a uniquely American action. That's how you get all the Eton College grads going into politics and journalism as a single congealed cohort. That's more due to family connections. Most UK students taking their A-Levels aren't going into politics and journalism. And that's created a rich vein of for-profit schools that exist above the High School grade, which people are obligated to assume debts to attend in order to be accredited for certain jobs. The USA still has one of the best public university systems in the world. This includes community college programs which help "lower" track students get a 4 year college degree. And, going back to what I've said earlier, other countries have degree restrictions on their jobs as well. Senior government positions in other countries are usually the domain of the college educated, with a much lower percentage of their populations having a college degree. You keep pointing to things happening in the USA as a uniquely American set-up and therefore evil without being able to contrast that with his the rest of the world handles secondary education.

    I suppose it could be possible that the humans are entering it, also possible the timestamps are just being rounded by the system. Guess it's hard to say, though I still say that a daycare that includes infants can reasonably be expected to log this sort of activity in case something goes wrong that would only show up as a loss of appetite or lack of bowel movement or explaining an otherwise unrecognized injury incurred during an assasination.
