There are many different sorts of cycling though. Mountain biking and road cycling seem to be the two that can involve spending a lot of money on high end gear that is well suited to a mid life crisis. I just go on bike rides to the beach on my bike that only cost mid 3 figures.

The closer the music is to this, the more likely you are to find something that goodwill would have auctioned off for $300+ going at like $5. Some Alpha MTG booster pack, a forgotten Nirvana cassette demo, all of these things lay buried in the bottom floor of some church basement. The place will only accept cash though.

I didn't pay $15K but I got a new one. And then the gears were two low because it was a mountain bike and I had to install a custom touring drive train. (I'm having the same problem with my current e-bike, in that I run out of gears and e- at about 20mph.)

I feel like a midlife crisis is supposed to be a significant deviation/extreme deviation where you panic for lost youth and run out and buy something silly you wouldn't normally get and start running marathons.

Jsyk, the androids don't have infinite power. This idea comes from a mistranslation and it's actually that they always function at maximum power with deep reserves rather than having an endless supply of ki. Agreed on the rest though. They are not comparable. My true point was that human is human. They are all human in different ways and to deny that just because some of them aren't fully human reminds me of blockhead ideas about race and race mixing. Saiyans and androids are on another level altogether though and that's hard to deny. And I would 100% buy that Toriyama forgot about Tien just like he forgot about Launch lol. It was kind of a running pattern in his career to forget minor details and whole-ass characters here and there

Omou again, fucker. My sides. And I know it's a copypasta and the bad translation is the point, but "akachan" is way too friendly for "You're fucking dead, kiddo". I'd go for "gaki", which is a common part of weeb lingo and literally means "kiddo", with the same connotations and all.

I marathoned the Lord of the Rings trilogy ~15 years ago on cable. It was awful. Commercials were bad enough, but I'd only seen the extended editions, and getting through all three movies in like 7 hours felt like absolute blasphemy. It would cut to a commercial break and when it came back it's like they skipped 30 minutes every time.

Lemmy has a lot of Linux users. Saying you use Windows is like being a heritic to the faith.
