    It's been rough where I am. We've basically abandoned the living room and have all been cramming into one room with the AC on. Even with the AC blasting in the living room it was 93 degrees fahrenheit inside

    Comments are deleted if you don’t reveal your gender. How would you do that? Isn't gender a social construct based on self-identification (rather than your physical body) that can be fluid & vary from day to day? Isn't a woman anyone who claims to be? Some activists even say there is no such thing as a “male body” A penis is not a male body part. It’s just an unusual body part for a woman. Logic is genderless.

    True, I will offer bonus episodes that release at the same time as the main episode. That will be with Patreon and I will give people name in the credits. But not putting a lot crazy teirs up. It be flat 5 dollars to access to bonus content right then. I follow a lot of Patreon channels and subscribe to all their YouTube channels and I just want to give to what I wish most of them would. I mean Leejay she does, but some who posted regularly now that they got over million YouTube followers content be lacking.

    In the very broadest sense I don’t disagree with you. Making a community private is a useful tool and can help to simplify strict entry guidelines. However, given that “Cater to a very specific group of people”, refers to basically half of earth’s population in this case, I do have some quibbles. I don’t have the data in front of me, but I bet that women represent something quite less than half the population of Lemmy. It doesn’t even stretch the imagination to suppose that they represent just a fraction of the user base. So this isn’t a niche interest or obscure sub-culture we’re talking about. This is an artificial minority population. Is the simplicity of going private worth the added obscurity and increased friction to what should be organic community growth? As it is, you had to see it, decide to engage with it, and then learn that it wasn’t meant for you, and you’d have just preferred to remain unaware it ever existed. Never mind that would also ensure most other People remain unaware it exists. Is it really such a hardship on you for the filter to be set a little wider for the good of that community?

    this is why i am not and will never be a feminist in a million years. while i get your sentiment, there's a lot of difference between feminism as it's practiced today and feminism as it should be. i do think that females are superior creatures and deserve all the admiration and respect but the way it's currently implemented is horseshit bullshit. it revolves too much around mocking men and creating an artificial and unnecessary schism in society instead of making sure that everybody can lead a good life, including strong social safety nets (economically) and advocating for things that benefit everyone.

    I just want to point out that ITT there are people who simultaneously refuse to recognize how men only spaces are demonized and refuse to back down about women needing women only spaces.

    If women only spaces didn't inevitably devolve into shitting on men I might be inclined to feel otherwise. I hate groups that do the same to women, give me a genuine reason why I shouldn't feel the same about men? Maybe I'm wrong, maybe the vast majority of posts have nothing to do with men. According to some of the other comments here, I'm not.
