A place to share alternatives to popular online services that can be self-hosted without giving up privacy or locking you into a service you don’t control.

Rules:

  1. Be civil: we’re here to support and learn from one another. Insults won’t be tolerated. Flame wars are frowned upon.

  2. No spam posting.

  4. Don’t duplicate the full text of your blog or github here. Just post the link for folks to click.

  5. Submission headline should match the article title (don’t cherry-pick information from the title to fit your agenda).

Click the short links and don’t ask questions. Their other post appears to have been taken down so they’re rotating through different ones I guess?

Personally, I find it hard to believe that just not changing somebody's prefix all the time would possibly cause so much technical extra effort that any additional fee is justified.

Currently only the Stripe backend supports recurrent payments by charging a credit card automatically. For Taler I plan to add an invoice like reminder email to simulate something similar. One time payments are of course supported by both.
  • Giving a /48 is spec, but a lot of ISPs are too stingy :/

Thank you for all the info. I am running plex off an intel nuc my NAS is just storing all the files for it. So cpu for the actual NAS can be either or tbh. And I think I’m going to self build and search more on here for what other people did and for any more questions I may have!

No, that wasn't quite the metaphor. The metaphor was that this is all nonsense technobabble strung together to almost sound like real language, but none of it means anything. It's not that your idea is novel or confusing, it's that these are barely coherent sentences. For real though, this whole post is an AI exercise, right? Probably the better meme to have posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXJKdh1KZ0w

Okay so it's something I can use to automate some sort of data processing and then be compensated for it. How is it processing the data? Where am I getting the data? What is it doing to the data? Who is paying me for processed data?

It's a structured low tech kit solution that uses Legos and hammers to hit them when the data tells it to with no guidance or tutorials which makes you money when you (a solo builder) are going broke. What's so hard to understand about that?

Try again, not using the word "kits". Why would a "solo builder" need this (which you haven't been able to coherently explain yet) when they could use real software to do so?
