That's fair, but I can't really speak for those people... I can only speak for me. It kinda feels like your stance in this interaction is maybe about more than just the point that I was making, and while that'd be fair (I'm sure a lot of people have voiced their frustrations in crap ways) that would definitely explain why it's felt like you're talking past me I don't know anything about alien.top. Are those the mirrored communities from reddit, or a different thing? If it is, I didn't even know that was your project when I mentioned them I don't think you're really even arguing with me anymore... It sounds like everything in my first comment you also plan to do or more-or-less agree with, and you're just kinda frustrated with the broader discussion? I understand you've interacted with a lot more people than me, but I can't really speak for anyone else, and I think I've voiced my perspective/opinion in a way that was generally pretty polite and constructive

What do you mean you don't know where to start? How about starting by going to their website (github repo). If you did that you would find out about the tutorial. It's described in the tutorial though. You can also just rebind a key or key combination to the keys that would write "ü" on your keyboard. KMonad really just changes what keys are pressed, so if you use a German layout, you will get German characters.

I think Diaspora by Greg Egan had a chapter with a crab planet, or maybe it was a crab universe. Its been a long time since I read it but I remember a scene where someone kind of turns themselves into a crab so they can talk to alien crabs about math.

Everyone here sorta answers the questions but not entirely. So KDE started back in the 1990s as K Desktop Environment as a play on the Common Desktop Environment. The K was originally suggested as standing for Kool buy I guess others in project didn't think that was very kool and it was left officially as just K. As to why Plasma - when KDE 4 was released, "Plasma" replaced Kdesktop shell and whatnot and was named Plasma because plasma evokes dynamic fluidity like plasma or some such lol.
