Remember, some different-than-them folks looking for fundamental rights and common decency was all it took to get 70 million people angry enough to vote in a dictator

Has kamala condemned this action by Trump? The Dems are not anti-war. They are warmongers just like the GOP.
The Dems would never have done this. But they'd still be supporting the genocide in Gaza. They are slightly less warmongering than Trumps. Meh. Fuck the whole system.

Right, because Trump was a better option. Im so glad we imported the fascism directly this time instead of watching it take shape in other countries. Congratulations, we'll all be trying to avoid the death camps at some point in the next 5 years.
we imported the fascism directly
Nah, it's very much locally sourced

Bold claim

Duh. Like another poster said though, Trump campaigned on improving the economy. He said he would do it. The Dems are so spineless they won't even lean into that. They focus on niche issues of minority groups. It's a recipe for fucking losing and they know it is the worst part, because at the end of the day, they get their funding from corporate donors who will cut them off if they ever actually push for real change.
wrote on last edited by [email protected]Let’s be real: Yes, the Democrats ran a historically tone-deaf campaign. But Trump’s entire economic pitch boils down to ‘Just believe me, folks! The same empty promise he made before leaving office with record job losses, broken supply chains, and an economy in freefall. I get what your saying I just have trouble believing voters are this desperate to blame ‘wokeism’ that they’ll ignore:
- The $7.8 trillion he added to the debt?
- The 3 million jobs lost under his watch?
- The fact his ‘miracle economy’ was a sugar rush of tax cuts for billionaires?
It’s a death wish for the middle class.

Harris and Biden both supported Israel and their right to retaliate, regardless of the extent of that retaliation. However they never advocated direct involvement and they certainly never threatened using nuclear weapons. Both sides are not the same
I mean trump never advocated direct involvement during the campaign either but we're speculating because Harris isn't in office. I'm basing my speculation on the fact that the Biden admin kowtowed to Bibi constantly and Harris made it clear she'd be the same in that regard. If either of them were in this same situation where Israel is in active war with Iran and Bibi begged them to strike Iran i think they definitely would.

Disingenuous tweet. Not like the other side was committing a genocide and normally just acts like republican lite

Are you asking for a summary of the last decade of Minnesota state politics that shows Martin ran fair primaries which resulted in progressive Dems getting majorities?
I would love this summary if there is one.
The only thing I had heard about the DNC leadership was them electing a progressive to vice chair on "accident" and then kicked him out after they realized he would be supporting progressive canidates
wrote on last edited by [email protected]You’re thinking of Vice Chair David Hogg.
Hogg pledged to primary ineffective democrats and the party crucified him for it. Current chair Ken Martin opposed this, proposing a change to bylaws that would require impartiality in primaries.
I am firmly with Hogg on this. Progressives need to be supported and conservative Democrats purged. Republicans with a D next to their name are no less an existential threat than those with an R. I don’t see Ken Martin as promising in any way whatsoever.

This is a dumb narrative that leads to petty bickering while we are currently living under literal fascism. The reason they elected a fascist is because they desire change from the status quo. Pronouns are not a positive change for most people. So of course they will pick a fascist over that platform, if that's all it has to offer. The left has to get real, and I mean realpolitik. We have real solutions to offer these people. That's what the message should focus on. Inclusion is a given with leftism. DEI is corporate virtue signaling.
agree, the inclusion movement went too far into dictating how people should behave and cancelling people on the basis of any perceived offenses and that gave electoral leverage to the current president

This is such a counterproductive take. It ignores why Harris actually lost (like Biden running again and refusing to step down until the end), while also implying that the Democrats didn't do anything wrong whatsoever and the fault lies with the electorate. If that's the takeaway for the DNC from this past election then we're cooked.

Last I checked, most people who voted for trump voted for him because they actually thought he would fix the economy. Only a fringe cares about identity politics.
While I personally believe people who voted for trump were naive at best, it is very disingenuous to pretend like they all voted for him because they hate trans people. Most normal people don't give a fuck about that shit. They just want to live and considering how chaotic the election was for the democrats, it makes sense that more people put their trust in the candidate who was there from the start.
It's a very boring answer, and it is not really an excuse for the current state of the US, but reality is often a lot duller than whatever narrative we like to cook up in our little heads after spending too much time on Twitter.

Why do americans think this is ww3? They are not the world and I really hope they will be ok their own with this war.

It also implies that Harris wouldn't attack Iran when she totally would have. A more correct approach would have been that ww3 for the Democrats is more preferable than worker rights and social institutions Bernie wanted.

Russia invading Ukraine. Israel attacking Iran. India attacking Pakistan. Nazi America threatening to annex Greenland.
Sure buddy, it's 'just' America involved here.

in what world do you think she would have?

Ah, but withholding my vote means my soul is pure and I don't own these consequences!
The fact that there's a mob of downvotes from white lily cowards says it all.
American puritans, shut the fuck up.

This community is cooked. The most popular response is that trans rights had fuck all to do with democrats losing, but they are all getting down voted to hell.
If we had the election again today trump would win by more votes, clearly.

Why do you think she wouldn't? She and her party showed in recent years they will do anything Israel orders them.

wrote on last edited by [email protected]Hey just a reminder: NONE of the world wars started because they all got up on the same day and started shooting each other.
If you get to point and laugh a year from now about how you were right and we were wrong, be thankful for it. Right now we've got a lot of individual active armed conflicts, often overlapping with others, including the fucking Middle East (you might want to peek at some of the history there). If we don't already meet the technical criteria for a world war, we're a half a step away.

I don't support fascism buuut
Thanks for proving the point of the meme.
