what is my "type"? i'm into guys who look like this
-
Stop it. Just stop trolling.
i'm not trolling, but i couldn't say the same for the people who responded with an actual slur for working class people like that answers my question
it's like if someone posted photos of black guys with dreads and fancy hats and they asked what type of guy they're into and people just responded back with the n word like it answers the question or even remotely narrows anything down
-
cuz people kept responding with a slur which doesn't answer my question
maybe what's offensive is your need to objectify and classify strangers in the first place.
-
having a name for my type would be useful in helping me find my type
-
i'm English and there's so many guys like this where i live but there doesn't seem to be an actual name for them which is annoying bc i don't have a name for what i'm into.
is there an actual, well agreed upon name that's well recognised in the uk for these guys so people know what i'm on about?
Most people would call that style "chav", and I've heard people say they're into chavvy-looking guys/girls, without thinking they were being offensive. If you don't like that word, I'm sure some clothing store magazine would use terms like "urban street fashion".

I doubt that.

sigh....."chav" is a classist slur that means "working class person"
it neither answers my question nor does it narrow anything down. itâs like if someone posted photos of black guys with dreads and fancy hats and they asked what type of guy theyâre into and people just responded back with the n word like it answers the question or even remotely narrows anything down

What an odd question.
You clearly know you have a 'type' and can easily point out examples of that type - that being the case why on earth do you need a word for it? How does applying a word help you find more people of that type? You're not classifying a new species.

Are you posting this question in order to get people to say chav so you have an excuse to spread the word about "chav" being inappropriate?

it is inappropriate because it's a slur. i'd feel the same way about someone posting pictures of rastafari men and the person posting doesn't know what the word for them is, but instead of people giving an actual answer they just respond with "those are (n word)s" over and over
i don't know if it's just people trying to be edgy or not because they themselves don't know the answer but it left a bad taste in my mouth

I think maybe he's got learning difficulties or something. He's posted the same troll bait yesterday and is responding in the same way each time.
Probably best not to entertain him.

That's Britain's version of white trash, Chav. And no. It's not the same as the n word. We're all typing Chav but not a single one of us is actually typing out the actual n word.

wrote last edited by [email protected]there's literally a whole book about how chav is a classist slur meant to demonise the working class https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chavs:_The_Demonization_of_the_Working_Class
it might not be as bad as the n word but it's still a slur that doesn't even remotely narrow anything down (working class people are half to a majority of the population in the uk) it's like someone posting pictures of rastafari men and the person posting doesnât know what the word for them is, but instead of people giving an actual answer they just respond with âthose are (n word)sâ over and over

Holy false equivalence Batman! And you still proved my point. Just stop. You've lost, you're not going to make people stop using that word. And all your insistence is doing is making it much more fun for people who enjoy getting the goat of those who want to clutch at their pearls of non-issues.

what i'm trying to say is it's not just offensive it's also completely irrelevant and doesn't answer my question -_-

No, what you are is a person who gets triggered by words like "nerd" or "geek". Words that have been colloquially accepted, even by those that fall into the groups. Your insistence that not be used because you believe it to be derogatory stems more from the fact that you don't like the perceived judgment that reflects on you because of the person that you're attracted to. The simple fixes you just stop caring that certain people use that word in a derogatory sense and instead embrace the term as endearing.

wrote last edited by [email protected]it isn't what i believe, it's literally a recognised classist slur that means "working class/poor person". did you read these?

Pretty sure some news show like CNN haD a segment on "what word is more racist, cracker or the n-word". Then someone like Jon Stewart or Jon Oliver covered that and could only scream "THE ONE YOU CAN'T SAY OR SHOW ON TV!" Good times.

you've given an excellent answer.
and what an odd response you've gotten from OP
(nothing, because this was clearly a setup)
