The value of Grayjay and other similar apps (Freetube, Newpipe) is based on their ability to continue to show Youtube video. If Youtube finds a way to block these apps, they will not be popular.

‘Open source’ is a very ambiguous, confusing, phrase that makes it too easy to get scammed out of libre software (and 'closed source' and proprietary).

Trying out to linux app but it is quite buggy. Try to type a search then a video just starts loading for no reason

Yeah the MacOS version does that too. Like I said, the desktop app is not so polished just yet. It was just released a couple weeks ago.
