China unveils a powerful deep-sea cable cutter that could reset the world order

I like how you instantly decided I was talking about China when writing that list. Shows your bias. But if you recognized it, good. Only means the similarities run deep enough for both countries to be mistaken by one another.
Thank you for remembering China has, technically, the longest standing continuous civilization. I'm aware. But since we are focusing our attention on recent history, let's say last 70 years, I'm going to opt out the rest as not relevant for the discussion at hand.
Shall we deny the revolution led by Mao ended in violence against his own countrymen and revolutionary allies? The decades of disastrous policies, of cultural, religious and social repression, all of those considered classical indicators of established totalitarian regimes?
Meanwhile, across the Pacific, let's also ignore and deny the ever growing shadow power and pressure on the government by the "conservative" to hold back or cull whatever small advancements on the social front made, since the 1950's, paired with the constant recitation of the fear against communism.
There was violence and repression on both ends of this argument, obviously; one enacted it through bullets, while the other enacted it through the pen. Different methods, same results. Fascinating how any ideology, when led to it's extremes degenerates into essentially the same outcome.
Now, if you will allow me, I am going to preserve my critical and accusatory position towards the political establishments of China and USA, as both being authoritarian repressive dangerous regimes.
"...you instantly decided I was talking about China when..."
Yes, seeing as how you said you were commenting on a thread about China and the US, and then at the end mentioned the Chinese and the Americans by name with reference to your comments, I did come to the conclusion you were talking about China and the US.
since you were literally talking about China and the US.
"Thank you for remembering China has, technically, the longest standing continuous civilization."
I did not say that and that is incorrect, but you're welcome.
"I'm aware"
clearly, you are not.
"But since we are focusing our attention on recent history..."
that is your personal myopia, do not speak for others.
"Shall we deny the revolution led by Mao..."
I guess you could, but I don't see the point of disagreeing with me there.
His regime and its effects are very well documented, If you look into it at all, you're just going to prove me right.
"let's also ignore and deny the..."
go for it.
you understand that your denial of basic historical facts is the reason you are so far off base here, right?
"Fascinating how any ideology, when led to it's extremes degenerates into essentially the same outcome."
I was waiting for your historically incorrect conclusion of magnet theory, and you finally made your way there.
your argument that the sky and the ocean are the same thing because they're so far apart from each other is a ridiculous conclusion, but explains your thought process.
-
A compact, deep-sea, cable-cutting device, capable of severing the world’s most fortified underwater communication or power lines, has been unveiled by China – and it could shake up global maritime power dynamics.
The revelation marks the first time any country has officially disclosed that it has such an asset, capable of disrupting critical undersea networks.
If I had that type of technology I would not advertise it

You finished waving your red herrings around?

I have to get all your uninformed false starts out of the way somehow.

No shit, lol. Those cunts have been cutting cables for almost a year now. This is why countries tend to hide the exact locations of cables. Shit is expensive.

Sure, it will be a shame to lose south/central America and Canada, but nothing else of value over there.
most of online services run there. google, youtube, everything microsoft, credit card processing mastercard and visa, tons of others. surely they have EU infrastructure, but it's a big question how would they handle a network split, if aallt

You need me to recap this exchange inception? Allow me.
I injected myself in this as you made your opinion on how another person was racist torwards chinese in general, as they saw China, the country, as in the regime, as dangerous.
You ascertained your moral high ground out of being well travelled and cultured, without ever addressing a single point of the other person's argument. Your concern was their apparent racism under your higher morality.
I opted by criticizing this position of your, by clearly stating why and how someone can loathe a country's regime without having nothing against the people living there, adding in the process why I personally find America snd China's regimes parallels, although ideologically opposite.
Again, you chose reiterating I am wrong in my views but without addressing a single point of it, except for making vague hollow observations that add nothing to the conversation, not adding counter points of information. Twice.
I've already deemed this a closed argument. I am doing it again. Be well, have a good one.

I literally said that I don’t hate Chinese people, I hate the culture. That is not racist to hate „work to death“ and „be worthless unless you reach a certain social status“ etc.
I’m sure there a nice aspects. But most of the culture seems forced and cruel. It’s all dependent on social status and that’s kinda sad. I hate that. I would hate it anywhere, not just in china. I would hate it in my country too. So how is this possibly racist? Some cultures are just worse than others.
You hate the culture as a whole? Or hate just the regressive/reactionary/conservative/more traditional(to a westerner) elements of it?

Reset the world order by sending everybody including China back to stone age right? That’d be fun.

"You need me to recap this exchange...?"
nope, I did that for you a couple comments above.
"as they saw China, the country, as in the regime, as dangerous"
you are making things up. That is not what @[email protected] said.
@[email protected] said:
"I hate the culture”, “I hate Chinese culturue”, “fuck China”, “I hate the whole thing”
The whole thing, sport. The people, the culture, the whole thing.
After I pointed out this was racist, DP was quick to change his tune, and say he hated everything about China, specifically the culture, except the people.
Hating culture or thinking one is superior to another is racism, especially when you know so little about the culture except the people who make it up.
Quick def for you: "Cultural racism is a concept that has been applied to prejudices and discrimination based on cultural differences between ethnic or racial groups. This includes the idea that some cultures are superior to others"
"Your concern was their apparent racism"
Yeah, I don't like racism so I call it out when it occurs. Usually it stems from ignorance, and they just have to be called out to be woken up.
"criticizing this position of your,"
not my position, you're making this up.
" personally find America snd China’s regimes parallels,"
absolutely absurd, as I explained above. but it's good you changed your mind here "although ideologically opposite", which is incorrect but more open-minded.
See, all I have to do is call you guys out and you start thinking more critically.
"without addressing a single point of it"
Which part do you want more help on? I have a lot of time and am free to continue correcting and educating you.
"without addressing a single point of it"
clearly not true, and you know it:
"except for making..."
except for addressing every single point. Right. With verifiable knowledge. Cool.
"I’ve already deemed this a closed argument"
Oh, clearly, it's so closed you needed to write paragraphs rewriting yours and others' comment history.
"Be well, have a good one."
Thanks, I'm having a GREAT one!

Yeah, but that’s only as long as they target the US with their bullshit. Dictatorships don’t exactly have a history of stopping after „defeating“ their enemy. They’ll find new ones (spoiler it’s gonna be Europe).
Is this like how they targeted African countries economies with the Belt and Road Initiative?
-
"That could reset the world order"
Lmao, what hyperbolic bullshit. It's just a cable cutter. Most nations have shit like this, but thanks for letting us know in the title this is just Chinese propaganda.
It will shift the orders from cables to starlink. Not the best idea tho, it sucks ass

If only cables can be designed to pull down ships that try to cut or anchor drag them. Maybe defensive cable around the main cable.
-
Reset the world order by sending everybody including China back to stone age right? That’d be fun.
Well, everybody except people hooked up to Starlink and other satellite based internet
-
Powerful seems like a pointless adjective here.
It doesn't take much power to destroy a cable. Did they invent a really long, and powerful, chain with a powerful anchor on it only usable by a boat with powerful electric winch?
Maybe they put AI in it too, for extra power of course
Oh you mean the AI Pro Power Winch 9000? Available at a genocidal dictatorship near you for 3 easy payments of 19.99B USD.

Just wait! Then they’ll start flooding space with mini satellites. Then they’ll start dogfighting with them.
