Trump is living in a Russian-made 'disinformation space,' says Ukraine's Zelenskyy
-
It was never really about Russia or Putin, but the ideological divide between capitalism and socialism. And authoritarianism and democracy.
Now, we have an authoritarian president. And apparently a third of the country voted for that so. Yeah that's where Americans are at sadly.

He isn't, he is still polite to give Donnie a benefit of a doubt, like he is speaking like that because he's got malinformed. No, Trump uses his position to exchange Ukraine and the security of Europe for whatever he was promised or he himself promised beforehand for his success in pres campaign previosly, so he just closes his debts. Zelensky couldn't say that to Trump all other countries and his own nation are paper tokens he uses to play monopoly with his friends. Ukrainian defence depend too deeply on what Biden's given them before so as a diplomat he doesn't want to cross out the US even though he knows that with Trump they'd hardly get anything. And it's not about the US specifically, it's a standard that keeps every other donor comfortable to donate arms and money, setting the climate in which no random and immidiate decisions pass, unlike what Trump does.

The most telling statistic about Russia's trustworthiness is that every single independent country that shares a border with Russia on the West has mandatory military service and those in the same region without a shared border with Russia don't.
-
Yep and no one near him is going to correct him which is the perfect recipe for terrible atrocities and catastrophes
-
Trump is a russian marionette
-
Not just Russia's puppet. He'll let literally anyone stick their hand up his ass if they pay him.
-
Very handy that he has his own $Trump coin. Not a word of protest from conservatives.
-
Theres even people here on lemmy living in that space
-
I often wonder how it goes behind closed doors. Is Zelenskyy all polite or is he more like you're full of shit and you fucking know it?
-
Also the reason why Saudis funded it. They want a piece of the post truth pie. But why did Elon even bother with the Saudi money? Is it as simple as wanting to keep the high score?
He paid $44 billion for twitter (of his and others' money) but the presidency of the richest country on earth only cost $250 million? It doesn't add up at all.
-
That conjured a great mental image for me of old man Putin setting out little bowls for neighborhood cats with the faces of Elon and Trump.
I've heard it said that Putin is actually the world's richest man, worth over $1 trillion. I could believe it.

The EU just announced $730 billion in war materiel for Ukraine. This is double what the US contributed over three years.
As far as I can tell, Trump has only been right about a single thing, that Europe needs to spend more money on military.
Looks like it's blowing up in his face and it's going to fuck him out of selling Ukraine to Russia.

No, he’s not. He’s an actor playing a role so he can continue to grow his net worth by the millions.

Yah, Zelensky has blood on his hands. He’s responsible for a large majority of Ukrainian deaths, as Putin is responsible for Russian deaths. It’s Zelensky that has decided it’s ‘fight till death or NATO saves us’ while refusing to find other solutions. I feel nauseous when people call him a hero. He’s a power hungry ‘nice guy’ who is more interested in fame and wealth than saving Ukrainian lives.
-
Grow up. It’s not red vs blue. It’s billionaires vs peasants.
-
Don’t like? Disagree. There are Russian people all over America. Don’t trust? Yes, America doesn’t trust Russia and the average American would be slightly nervous in Russia. The rest of the world needs to learn that since America is the most racially diverse country on earth, America as a whole is unable to hate entire ethnic group.

The word President implies authority. No, Trump is not an authoritarian. Yes, he has displayed authoritarian tendencies. Trump is not Hitler. Take a second to google ‘worlds best leaders’ and you see a lots of people who were never leading entire countries but just led culture, like Ghandi. It’s reasonable to conclude that most humans do not view any political leader as best or the greatest when they hold authority over other people. A leader is only considered good when they don’t have power over the population.

He urged Trump’s team to be “more truthful”
Trump responded by calling Zelensky a "dictator without elections", and suggested his ratings were low.
(for those curious: the Ukrainian law
constitutionprohibits electing a president during war, it's especially hard with 20% of the country under hostile control; and regarding Zelensky's rating, it's about 57%70%currently)After that, some Republicans with a spine (Mike Pence, Don Bacon, Thom Tillis, Mike Rounds, John Kennedy, et al) also called out Trump to be more truthful.
If Elon is true to his word, he now has to give 100 M to politicians who oppose those Republicans in primaries. Because he threatened to beat anyone who badmouths his boss with his wallet.

Conservatives are fundamentally against financial risks, and the crypto industry is financially risky. The crypto industry has been liberal/blue from the start and still is. Conservatives aren’t talking about it because the average crypto holder is not a republican. I can tell you’re the type to say things like ‘it’s the republicans fault’ that Biden approved $400 off armored teslas.
