OpenAI whistleblower’s deemed suicide
-
you missed one.
Prison suicide, also known as "epsteined"
-
even better. use the fact that companies didn't legally pursue Facebook as an argument that IP laws aren't being enforced and that downloaded IP content isn't in violation of copyright.
if they refuse to follow laws, and refuse to enforce laws, there are no laws.
-
Weren't there two boing suicides? Or the second one was something more creative, I think.
-
...but without the fucking cool stuff.
-
We got some of it, its just that killer drones and SI aren't as cool on this side of the screen, and the cyberware is only for rich people (though there is a growing 3D printed movement for amputees) That said with some craft skills we can at least make the cool punk armor and kneepads and have it be reasonably functional, even deploy a blade if you're ambitious, though more predator than mantis in that regard.
Be the change you want to see.
-
Didn't the boeing guy pretty explicitly state that he was not suicidal to family and friends right before he died?
-
Very similar story to the guy above. I mean, very similar!
-
Yeah, I think the constant barrage of bad news that you have no control over is too much. I'm spending more of my free time this year volunteering locally, mostly for selfish reasons like mental health and distraction from Politics.
Also, given how things are heading, this might be one of our last decent years for spending time outside. So, I’m making an effort to enjoy it while I can.
-
Yes he did
-
It's a great idea, though in practice I fear you'd seem like Snowden and everyone would eventually coalesce around the idea that you're a traitor because you didn't get assassinated or put into a dark hole to be forgotten.
-
Isn't Snowden, like, actually a dipshit though? He released info that got our spies killed.
Some was important to know. Some just got people murdered
-
Yeah, killing people, the American exclusive
-
Give it 52 years and we'll have more cool stuff, plus 300% more ads.
-
Bullshit
-
Except Aaron was being prosecuted for pirating open scientific papers. He was being heavily pressured by the FBI and was facing serious fines and jail time.
It’s less surprising that he took his own life in that situation. I know less about the OpenAI whistleblower, but it seems much more suspicious from here.
-
Devs was a fun show.
-
What info got spies killed exactly? Aspersions were cast but no actual information ever came out about that, and presumably if they're already dead then it can be released.
If that had actually happened, the government would have been howling from the rooftops about it, we'd all know their names.
But the reports on what damage it did were entirely redacted, and the worst thing they could say was "likely to have lethal consequences", which presumably means it *hadn't * had lethal consequences. Pretty weak shit. Also they're bitching and moaning about how it will weaken their ability to do spy shit and like... good. Why do we want them to do that shit? Everything we know about what they do is basically universally evil, so maybe Snowden is a hero actually.
Nah, it's bullshit, they're just trying to assassinate his character and it sounds like you fell for it.
-
They think we are so fucking stupid, don't they?
-
How many times did he shoot himself?
I mean there is a pattern to these things.
If Putin doesn't like you, you shoot yourself and then jump out of a building.
If the Clintons don't like you, you shoot yourself twice in the back of the head before driving your car off a cliff.
If you have dirt on powerful people, you hang yourself in prison. -
He released info that got our spies killed.
citation requested. I've only seen this as a fox news talking point, never, ever substantiated.
Not really a snowden fan myself, but really feel we need to be accurate when things like this are asserted.
