European leaders throw support behind Zelenskyy after heated Trump meeting
-
Ooh, maybe all the "rare minerals" were just plain old dirt all along!
-
I think you are at least partially correct. There was Russian media in the room (“unapproved” and escorted out when they were “discovered” — after already live streaming the juicy bits back home ). Trump turned to reporters at one point saying “you see how much hate he has for Putin. It makes it very hard for me to negotiate” (from memory).
-
Russia, probably.
-
No matter how this shakes. The damage is done. No matter what happens going forward nobody can or should trust the US to be a reliable partner in any way. Not economically or militarily because we're psychotic. Nationally bipolar. You might get a stable trustworthy partner in one election only to get an insane wannabe dictator in 4 years time who flips the table and burns all the bridges. You can't trust us with anything on a longer timeline than 2-4 years. And that is the surest path to international irrelevancy.
This will be "The Moment" spoken about in history books where US Hegemony collapsed. Count on it. Because no matter what happens. This is the new paradigm. We cannot be trusted.

CIA and America as a whole are no longer a viable way for that small group of people to get a lot of money. What you're seeing is the MIC divesting from America to a more productive country, like Ukraine or China.
-
These Americans can't use their 2nd ammendment rights to defend themselves and suddenly that's now other countries problem? No thank you, let Americans clean up their own mess. They can either work on their own country or apply for asylum like every other refugee, so long as they're triaged long after the countless millions of refugees displaced by Americans.
-
The only reason Europe refrained from being a weapons powerhouse was part of our ally with America after WW2 was that they would do it and profit. Now Europe can be like "
Oh well, guess we'll be the MIC now" and shady weapons dealers will be like "Sorry America, better business elsewhere where they don't skimp on materials and safety inspection." Also people don't remember just how much more dependent America is on the rest of the world than anyone is dependent on America. Putin is glad not because he's gonna win Ukraine, but he managed to hop over Europe entirely and headshot America successfully. I think Putin could die happy of his mysterious health problems knowing he successfully carried Russia to victory vs the USA.
-
European leaders should have a summit in the oval office to sign an agreement to protect Ukraine. Each leader should bring their own ceremonial pen with which to sign the agreement. The summit should be on 15th March.
What is SS gonna do, shoot all the leaders of western europe?
-
Hungary is definitely not going to be part of NATO2
-
You have to really drink the kool-aid to believe that shit. If the weapons they allowed us to keep were a threat to anything other than soft targets and school children they wouldn't let us keep them
-
-
Lots of other countries have democracy like the us but it's the huge difference between your political parties as well as social media making the rift bigger each election cycle. I think once you guys get rid of the social media, you guys can come back.
-
The military is also under direct attack.
The Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs is being replaced by a Lieutenant General that, according to Trump, got the job through being a sycophant who wore a MAGA hat with his uniform.
There's a lot of troops under leaders that will find that abhorrent.
-
The UK expelled a disastrous Prime Minister in 50 days in 2022. Trump is doing fundamental damage to your country far worse than Truss did and you're telling me the 70% of the American people are powerless until the next election and just have to watch it happen on TV? It's pathetic.
Your representation is failing to do their constitutional duty. The voice of 70% of the people can't be ignored if it's united. That's why you all need to come together in real life and not inside social media. Start campaigning. Start protesting. Start being angry.
-
If you find it, please mention/DM me.
-
Yes, in terms of any official political mechanisms to remove him. Its not pathetic, it's how our constitution works! He would need to be betrayed by about 1/3 of the hundreds of party members who just worked to install him. These representatives aren't from locations people want to see massive protests at, those cities are already blue.
My elected representatives are not republicans, am I supposed to move to another state to protest on their behalf? Are we gonna get millions of people waving their picket signs in the potato fields of Idaho?
This is the exact type holier than thou bullshit I'm sick of. These are the mechanisms baked into our constitution; the voting population has made their vote. Any removal from office would happen by red state electors acting in good faith to protect the rule of law, and they've spent multiple decades proving they want to do the opposite.
You have just as much power to fly to any random red US state and protest somebody who doesn't represent you. What the fuck is your excuse?
-
ohhhh ok... so it's based off of "Throw One’s Weight Behind". I don't think I've ever heard it used that often, but now it makes sense for me. I just somehow had it in my mind that "throw" has a bit of negativity to it, because in my native language, it does.
thanks! -
I really hope that Europe finally decides to materially support Ukraine.
For the duration of the invasion Europe has flatly refused to make long term contracts for the order of artillery shells. They are more than willing to send what extra they have but they have not committed to the massive increase in manufacturing that is required for Ukraine to win . I was shocked when Germany announced massive automotive layoffs without government intervention to switch to war production for Ukraine.
So many of Europes challenges are related to the invasion of Ukraine yet they are not acting as if they are actively engaged in war or like they will be soon.
I have been absolutely puzzled for years why there hasn’t been a rush to create defense production capacity in a meaningful way. They only conclusion I came to is that Europe as a whole -Poland, isn’t really concerned about the outcome of the Russian invasion.
Poland is acting like this is a big deal.
Every other major nation seems to be waiting until they can get back to business as usual. Let’s see if this shocks them into actions they needed to take years ago.
The contracts need to be written, so the buildings can be built, so the machines can be put into them, so the workers can be hired , so the production can begin. It takes years.

No. They all know what to do, they can act TODAY. No summit necessary. Ukraine ‘s needs are known . Significant help can be sent starting today.
They need to ACT

Zelensky know its a bad deal, no concessions on Putin's part, and also he's not physically there, sent his golden retriever so his bidding
