Serious question: what options are there for non-smart TVs these days? I remember looking when I bought a new TV a few years ago, and EVERYTHING was “smart”.
Don't buy a tv. Buy a "monitor". Add your own external tv tuner box, and other smart sticks externally. At that point your "tv" is just a display.
Yes, it costs more, but you're not paying with your data.

And who is making 80 inch monitors? Most people don't want small ass displayed or have the ability to buy a 4k 50 inch monitor.

My cheap ass TV from 2019 is 55 inches. How much is a 55 inch monitor? Or a 65 in monitor if I want to upgrade to a bigger size in the future?

Which TV doesn’t let you change source without being connected to WiFi? Cause whatever brand that is you just don’t buy it. Also never heard of any of the major brands doing that at all

I bought an LG one recently. Works great, no hassle. I have no idea if it has smart features, because I just plugged it in and it worked. Never connected it to the Internet.
I think I did have some trouble with the initial setup menu because of weird button selection behavior. And I was happy to see you can turn off the startup animation.

I'd say Sharp/NEC would be the only "dumb" professional series displays, at least of the major manufacturers.
You'll be at around $1500-$3000 for a nominal 80" (they make a 75" and an 86").

As far as I know, these have no smart functions. I believe the Walmart site carries them.

But if you don’t have it connected to internet it works as intended. It says so in the article. So unless they force you to connect to internet to switch inputs it’s nbd if you never have it connected to internet at all.

Someone had mentioned they contacted one of the majors and said his wife was on dialysis and a heart machine, could they give him instructions to disable the wifi on the TV and they did, with the caveat that it was a permanent thing. So you could try that with a regular smart TV if you can't get these.
