Yes I will blame the people that can barely afford to live for not going out to see a mediocre movie, not the execs who made the movie or a fucking "Wall Street Analyst".

          Pixar has a new film?

I don't have kids so I'm not hyper aware of this stuff...but...I figured I'd at least have heard about it

I've seen trailers and advertisements for this movie, and nothing about it looks interesting or entertaining. Is it like Luca and Soul and Elemental? Because while those weren't bad movies, they weren't worth the price of admission for a family of four. Mediocre movies aren't good enough. There was a time when you went to the movies every weekend because it was the thing to do. It was cheap, they had air conditioning, and you could meet all your friends there.

Now, it's not cheap, there are tons of alternatives, and while I appreciate the ability to pick my seats, it does introduce an element of planning that means you can't just show up and expect to get a ticket at the box office. It doesn't matter that it's a kid's movie, it still has to be a better alternative to all of my other options.

Maybe if marketing had done their homework? I've heard there is a new film called "Elio", yes, and it is animated. I just here learned that it is Pixar/Disney, and I have still no idea what this film is all about.

I have kids who live on Disney+ and I hadn't even heard of this movie until it showed up on some McDonald's packaging the other day. I told my partner this is how Disney justifies killing off original animation; they're going to claim nobody is going out to see their new movie (because nobody has heard of it) and they'll say, "oh, nobody wants original animation, anymore. We'll keep making these shitty live action remakes that make bank."

Seriously, wanted to puke at "Wall Street Analyst". MBAs and the like truly are a cancer on society.

Nothing about Elio screams it's a Pixar movie. You can tell me it's a Dreamworks or Illumination film or whatever and I will believe you. RIP Pixar.
