Yes, I do still browse reddit, mainly for hockey and some niche subs that aren't here yet. Once in a while I dip my toes into r/all to see the garbage that floats to the top and this one popped up today.
r/conspiracy has always been a shithole, but when I first saw this post I thought it was on a meme sub, but no, those morons actually believe this shit. Truly blows my mind how amazingly stupid a lot of people are.

And was voiced by Nathan Fillion. Was a great cameo...plus we get Jewel Staite in this season. Just need Adam Baldwin, Gina Torres, Summer Glau, Morerna Baccarin, Ron Glass and Sean Maher and we got the crew of serenity back.
I've got some bad news for you about Ron Glass ...

It wasn’t clearly aligned politically, just suspicious of power
Lol, lmao even
If you think the conspiracies weren't politically motivated, you didn't dig into who was "controlling the Libor/NSA" deep enough. Especially with anything money based, it always came back to the Jews. Like, for decades of looking into this shit, it's always been at the back of these conspiracy theories. Also, they had to hide their power level so much more up until rather recently, so it was easier for the naive to not see what they were really doing.
Oh yeah, those shitgibbons are always lurking around the margins looking for an opportunity. It’s an eternal problem, and another actual fascist conspiracy is driving it right now. Fuck Stephen Harper and the IDU.
Most discussions about Libor in the early slashdot/digg/reddit fora were not ethnically aligned, the craven ones got downvotes at first. I never read any upvoted threads about NSA abuses that referenced hate speech. No one notably mentioned Jews or other hate targets regarding UFO coverups until space laser MTG. I also think those posts and threads were downvoted and moderated at first.
A lot of the r/conspiracy discussion in the early 2010's still had quite a few left-leaning anti authoritarian participants, buoyed by recently being right about some large actual conspiracies, and they were numerous enough to repress obvious racism. It didn't become a lost battle until the Q brigade showed up.

Small discussion about this fossil on Lemmy yesterday:
https://mander.xyz/post/34422423
To recap: that's not the correct age or species. Soft tissues do make fossils. This protooctopus looks different from modern octopi.
Hooray, I've been referenced! Now I'm a real science doer!
-
What if the protooctopus is a common ancestor to the 800 types of cephalopods?
Then why are all those cephalopods so closely related to all the other non-cephalopod molluscs?

Alien cephalopod had sex with molluscs? /s

Not gonna lie, I was assuming even the picture was made up/AI bullshit. Bit of egg on my face there
The sentiment is still correct though, even bone fossils are exceedingly rare. I can’t remember the exact estimate but of all the people alive in the US, archeologists 1 million years from now would be lucky to find 60 human bones. I’m not sure if that included teeth however.

They don’t have eight arms. If anything, they have eight crazy toes and one foot.

does that include actually finding the fossils? because not only is the formation of them rare, but places do be big so you either have to rely on blind luck to find them or places where for some reason there's just an extraordinary density of fossils
-

obviously other molluscs are tentacles budding off, they are independent after all.
