I’m no fan of metal but I’ve never liked the idea of gate keeping genres based on our personal preferences. There’s plenty of music out there that I love that I know others don’t care for and vice versa.

What's funny is that I crossposted it to the metalmemes community to a much warmer reception!
One of the flaws of lemmy is the number of people with a very limited sense of humor. Here we are in the shitposting comm, and half the comments are pearl clutchers, it's depressing.

I think that the language barrier is sometimes the culprit instead of the lack of humour. Still anything on a shitpost group should be treated as harmless by default
