@gamingonlinux with the other news of the Amazon game streaming platform for devs, I believe that Valve has to offer its own streaming service for Steam (of course running on Linux and using Proton or the Steam Runtime for games).
This will create a NEED for game devs to make sure their games actually work on Linux / Steam Deck and bars efforts by others to kill the Linux project...

@gamingonlinux eh…they probably don’t need to worry that much. Microsoft doesn’t have the chops to develop a mobile OS for a gaming handheld(that works well).
As evidence…my windows 7 phone…my Dell pocket PC…my netbooks (plural)…the Nokia nonsense…that Windows itself is a bloated resource hog in its slimmest form…that Xbox hasn’t come close to dethroning Sony…that Steam is successful on windows…that other handheld gaming pcs are already around and barely popular…and finally…the Switch exists.

@gamingonlinux given that the Xbox app on their own OS is so unpopular (where Steam thrives) it's hard for me to imagine an Xbox handheld that takes people away from Linux handhelds (assuming it doesn't support Steam games). I think the primary market would be people already in the Xbox ecosystem
