Of course, Trump is the biggest business idiot in the country. He was largely elected because he is the big, dumb mascot of business idiots.

I keep seeing Ed's site posted everywhere and we need to promote the HELL out of him!!! It seems he is the only person actually making sense today. I send his articles to everyone I know and urge them to read it.

The other 78% he reneges on nuclear agreements in place since a decade and threatens war on the behalf of a country that starts with I, probably the Ivory Coast, or maybe Iceland, to blow up another country that starts with I, maybe Italy.

Maybe he sees all these Is and thinks "Yeah, I'm awesome."

I'd recommend Thomas Piketty's 'Capital in the 21st Century' if you're into the deep economics side of all this. Its a bit dense, but really hammers home the point that the period from ~1940 - 1980 in the US was the ONLY period where wealth inequality was declining and therefore it was easier for people to believe that we lived in a meritocracy of some kind where 'adding value' at work actually did lead to added wages. That period has ended, and now inequality and trickle-up economics are reaching all time highs, with no apparent limit in sight.

              No, I don’t think so.

Biden golfed a total of nine times.

Obama spent 3% of his time golfing.

Trump, 22-25%, depending on the source.

This is crazy shit, a dictator stating people should work harder while spending 1/4th of his time on the course. The presidency isn’f supposed to get weekends off.

Biden golfed a total of nine times.

Biden & Obama weren't a golfer though... so looking at just golf is dumb for them.

              https://nypost.com/2025/02/15/us-news/biden-took-off-577-days-in-4-years-tops-modern-era-presidents/

Biden’s out-of-office ratio far surpasses time off taken by Trump — who spent 26% of his first term away from Washington, D.C. — 381 of his 1,461 days in office, records show.

Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama vacationed for just 11% of their two-term presidencies — and workhorse Jimmy Carter took only 79 days of breaks, accounting for 5% of his single term in office.

Obama was low, Biden was stupid high. Trump is in the middle here.

                  Well yeah

                  Pensions are fucked globally

Not a single one of you will see any money from it, so better get working

Even better, you guys will probably need to extend the pension age up to 75 or so

                  Prepare for fun times

The article discussed golf. I replied with golf. It’s apples to apples. You want to butwhatabout the rest of the time? Ok.

Fuck the NY Post. Just another sensationalist rag. If you want to be taken seriously, find a source that isn’t a right wing mouthpiece.

In contrast,The Washington Post, which used White House pool reports, reports that Biden spent 256 days on vacation or at one of his homes in Delaware through May 22, 2023.

Former President Donald Trump spent a little over a quarter of his presidency, around 380 of his1,461 days in office on personal trips.

Trump's time out of office earned a of media attention because he spent most of his time away, around 250 days, at properties he owned -- and would therefore financially benefit from by his presence -- during his presidency.

                        link

However, Snopes comprehensively analyzed the former president's public calendar, research from his administration and pool reports — detailed daily dispatches from the White House press corps tracking Biden's movements — and found that the RNC's claim was inaccurate. It is difficult to define what a "vacation" is for a president, given that a president is never away from duties. Therefore, Snopes determined how many days he was in a vacation setting.

Based on this definition, Biden spent 117 or 118 full days of his 1,461-day presidency (Jan. 20, 2021 to Jan. 20, 2025) on vacation, or about 8% of his presidency. He also spent 66 days, about 4.5% of his presidency, partially in a vacation setting.

                          So then you admit that

                          Is a bullshit comparison then?

Lol, amazingly selective reading where you deliberately skipped past the “apples to apples” statement. I also included two separate sources, which named where and how they got the info, and offered alternative interpretation of the numbers unlike the NYP. Which you obviously spent zero time reading. Just in case you pulled the “your site sucks” bs without any refutation of the actual facts as presented. You butwhatabouted right past everything of substance and offered nothing in return. That’s called “bad faith” discussion, and I’m not wasting time on you. Blocked.

My sole and only point was exactly what I said, which was that both Biden and Obama weren't golf players. Comparing a specific activity was disingenuous and you did specifically that.

I literally just grabbed the first fucking link I saw because the point was that Biden was out way more than 9 days/times. Your source proved that. My point is done. The rest is in your own fucking head. I don't care what source it is. You're going out of your way being obtuse about how you specifically compare shit.

You call me bad faith, your original post was outright a lie.

Edit: Oh and you complain that I didn't read the NYP... except it calls out George Bush for taking a bunch of time at his estate.

George W. Bush spent 1,020 – or 35% — of his 2,922 days in office away from DC in his two terms, including plenty of time at his Texas ranch, according to tallies by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

But see, I did read it and you clearly didn't. The numbers specifically don't matter. It's the fact that comparing Trumps primary leisure activity and comparing it to other presidents who don't do that activity is just... dumb. Should be comparing actual apples to apple. Would be comparing all time used, or all time used on primary recreation activity. Golf vs golf is stupid, because the others didn't golf. But see I already explained that and you're just too dense to actually understand the point.

I had a pre-MAGA family member say to me "holidays are for Christians, you should have to work!" This is the level of intellect that will control our lives for the foreseeable future.

                                    Well yeah

                                    Pensions are fucked globally

Not a single one of you will see any money from it, so better get working

Even better, you guys will probably need to extend the pension age up to 75 or so

                                    Prepare for fun times

France revolted violently for less... and again after Charlie X started stripping away the Napoleonic rights.

Americans should definitely take Voting Day off, to maybe vote.

I thought the amount of time he golfs would be higher. Every time he golfs we pay the taco when he stays at his properties.

I would argue that it's actually FAR better for USA and the world, that he golf as much as possible.
He doesn't fuck as much stuff up when he's elsewhere amused......
