PayPal owns brands like Venmo, Honey and is heavily integrated into eBay - if you're looking to stop giving your money to bad companies, take a second to search their subsidiary brands as well.
-
If anything, Venmo is a competitor of PayPal.
PayPal.. owns Venmo?

Large corporate farmers maybe (you've provided no support to your claim). In my experience though (a decade in fine dining, with direct relationships to many market farmers) there are more small farmers without their heads up their asses. They understand how they are being fucked with water rights, climate change and no right to repair. While nobody is doing enough on these things currently, they recognize that trump is gasoline on the fire that disrupts their lives.

Idk much aboabout it, but what about DecentraShop?
-
It looks like it might be one of those blockchain-based marketplaces. I noticed there were a handful of those on AlternativesTo. I skipped em because I have no interest in supporting blockchain stuff.
-
And use what? Mastercard? Visa? Your local bank institute?
All are deep into shit of gambling our money (financial speculation) for profit. -
I don't care if companies speculate or if they make a profit.
-
If anything, Venmo is a competitor of PayPal
Yes, just like how Coke is a competitor to Diet Coke and Sprite.
-
Correcting misinformation isn't defense of the entities involved. You can hate eBay (or any entity) and correct misinformation about them. There's no conflict there.
-
AWS
You can choose a different service for your own hosting needs.
The same is true of PayPal. I've been banned for years (not sure why, maybe my account was compromised?), and it's never been an issue, I just pick a different payment method. I use Venmo occasionally, but Zelle also works for most uses, or I can bring cash or a check.
I don't think I've ever been in a situation where I only have a single payment option.

Never saw a .coop before. Unfortunately chicken.coop is reserved

Lol. That said, there are multiple companies involved in producing that tap water. So somebody is profiting from that glass of water, it's just a lot less than the bottled stuff.
-
And if I don't like Visa or MasterCard, I can use Discover or American Express. In fact, I don't like MasterCard (got caught sharing data with Google), so I switched to other cards (probably just as bad, but it's about sending a message).

I don't think we are quite there yet... water is generally municipal.

You don't even need to support a Trump supporter to be a Nazi, you just need to mention something not great about his main competitor.
- "Biden could've done better at..." - Nazi
- "Harris ran a poor campaign." - Nazi
- "My coworker liked one thing Trump said." - Nazi (you too because Nazi bar)
- "My coworker doesn't like Harris' position on..." - Nazi
I've never voted for Trump in my life, and I even held my nose and voted for Biden in 2020. I didn't vote for Harris in 2024 because I realized Trump would win my state by 20+% regardless, so I might as well support a third party.
So I guess I'm a Nazi. Well, it was a good run, I guess I need to go punch myself in the face because that's what I do to Nazis...
-
Eh, I don't even care who owns PayPal, I avoid it because it's annoying. Zelle is less annoying because it's through my bank, but I honestly just want regular ACH.
-
Right, but there will be contractors and whatnot involved in the process, and there is certainly commercial equipment used in the process.
-
Isn't Venmo owned by PayPal?
-
Didn't actually know about Aqua Panna, that's the only one I occasionally consume when going to a fancy Italian place where this is the default when ordering still water.
I'd say a good 90% of the rest is completely unknown to me. All the rest that I do know seems to be overprocessed junk food that's easily avoided by buying fresh ingredients exclusively.

But you can't pick what others use for hosting, and the majority of big corps use AWS. At least that's the nudge that I think they were getting at.
