One of my hobbies is making and drinking cocktails. I'm spending kind of a lot on it and I have a bit of an issue with actually storing all the bottles I buy (see: housing is expensive), but if I was drinking even half of those cocktails in bars I'd be spending several times as much. Drinks in bars are expensive, proper cocktails even moreso, and if you want ingredients that are better than bottom-tier ...

Some hobbies can be really cheap. Just bought a bow and arrow set for $150 and an archery range nearby only costs $5 for the whole day.
Just found out there's a well-reviewed archery range 9 minutes away from me. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll definitely be checking it out!

Learning to sit still, in the quiet, and just being has been one of the biggest improvements to my mental health.
Of course, a bigger improvement to my mental health would be if we had an economy that worked for the people rather than for the rich...

I think concert tickets are expensive only if you listen to pop music. I recently went to a concert with line up of Cannibal Corpse, Mayhem and two more bands and the tickets were just $50.
Classical music is even a better deal. I was in the 2nd row to see Augustin Hadelich play Mozart and the tickets were less than $30. Lucky for me Iâd rather see that than any pop music.

While it may sound ridiculous, I actually think there is some healthy outcomes of practicing minimalist lifestyles. Gives me a peace of mind and avoids having to spend so much time on 'managing my things'.
Although I don't know if I can go full on 100% minimalism... I do like to do things

One of the reasons I'm glad I live in the city. There're free concerts in the parks. Free movies, sometimes. I can bike or train to the beach. There're meetups for all sorts of interests. When I lived in the suburbs, it was a wasteland. At best you could drive somewhere interesting.

Seriously. Suburbs are a hell I refuse to return to and which I wouldnât wish on anyone. They just suck the life out of everything and you donât even get anything for it. Hell, the houses arenât even that cheap so you really just get to spend a lot of money on hot garbage.
âHey, wanna be isolated from all your friends while getting nothing in return except the blandest, cookie-cutter hellscape? Have I got the place for you! And fret not, itâll still cost you a staggering amount of money for even a small, shitty place so you better be fuckinâ married if you want even a two-bedroom condo!â

I ainât tryinâ to blame ya, just to be clear but:
- Bahn MĂ is way cheaper and way more fun.
- Shawarma is usually pretty cheap and if itâs still $20 for a plate you best believe youâll have a meal to share.
- The last tip could probably work for a whatever burrito placeâs big burrito. They always got a really big one on the menu somewhere.
Italian food from a restaurant is such a ripoff. I can make a way better pasta with some ground beef or pork, store-bought sauce, and some random pasta, and I get the option to add other vegetables that they either donât include or have in pathetically small amounts.
