Dude am I the only one who is glad this s*** is off steam? I grew up on Steam back when it only had Half Life on it, and it makes me sad that they devolved into literally Rape Games and other demented content. Are we all just going to pretend this isn't or wasn't an issue? The last thing our society needs is "more porn". This is the type of s**** we should be fighting against and I say that as a man who on a dark and stormy night pulls up some inappropriate content.
As if there are not enough places to get porn on the internet.
They're after those places next.

The problem isn't what the content was, the problem is letting a payment processor dictate what is and is not acceptable even when legal
Today it's "rape content" tomorrow, it's vanilla porn, then the day after it's LGBTQ+ affirmative content
Itch.io already went and hid all adult content afaik, so we are already past the first stage even.

It's just a change.org petition though, in the end it doesn't have much power to it. Even if it gets to 1mil. signatures, Mastercard and Visa could just go "Alright, use another payment processor then"

100% a change.org petition makes news which is useful but won't otherwise do anything. What you need to do to back that up is cost Visa/Mastercard money, and the way to do that is to call them and tell their ethics teams that what they're doing is deeply wrong.

Change.org is a for profit company with no government attachment what so ever. Signing a pettition there is only handing dipshit capitalists your personal info to sell.
