Lemmy.sdf.org is down for the count
-
SDF should be more reliable, they existed since like the 80s and have hosted tons of things from Public access UNIX to BBS to web hosting lol
-
Got damn that's a drop, I didn't even think SDF was that busy lol
-
Whatever they once were, they suck now.
-
I don’t really know, but the vibe I get from SDF is “this is my homelab, you can play on it if you want, mostly am I working on getting my Plan 9 machine to recognize its network hardware so if you have problems you may have to wait until I get around to addressing them.”
I kind of enjoyed when federation broke and the big instances were scrambling to fix it and SDF’s answer was “welp we’re now a non-federated instance until the Gods see fit to fix it in the next version of Lemmy.” But yes as a platform for participation it’s not ideal.

I think that was more because of Hexbear going down?
-
That's odd, I was able to connect to it less than an hour ago
-
Seems to be up for me now too.
-
Looks like it just came back up lol
-
Has to be, no way SDF has 5 million comments.
-
Good point!
-
Sopuli is great!
-
Agreed. I wish I could transfer my SDF communities over here but it's not possible, sadly.
-
I think we're good now lol.
-
It is possible to an extent, look at this post: https://lemmy.world/post/24312613?scrollToComments=true
-
That's the exact kind of messy migration I want to avoid.

I never noticed
