Hello!

Awesome! As a bit of feedback, since Mastodon is european, and roughly half of the users are european, it would be great to see more european posts/news/suggested accounts in the explore tabs.
@lokjo great suggestion, will see whether this is something our mod and operation team can help with.

@Mastodon but currently, mastodon is by far to complicated. How will you go on fixing the huge usability shortcomings with finding people, finding posts, following people, reposting, reacting and stuff like this.
I mean you said you will share things outside the fediverse. But people clicking on shared things there will just notice the problem right away.@fabiscafe thanks for this feedback. We've got a new designer joining soon, we have other new team members with additional perspectives. We've also been working on the Fediscovery project https://fediscovery.org to improve some of the things you mentioned. We're moving forwards!

@Mastodon Thanks! Please let us know any progress.
I wanted to open a usability-collection-issue on github listing all the currently known shortcommings. Do you think this is something worth doing at this point? -

@Mastodon To be honest, I really think that Mastodon should not have a prominent office in the US, but it should be clear to be a European entity under EU laws.
With the US office in New York mentioned on the website as prominent as it is, I think might very well turn a lot of people who want a break from US tech away from using Mastodon.

@AngelaScholder thank you, we're working on this with the new European non-profit that is being created right now. We do need to list the details of the US 501(c)(3) entity (which is for fundraising) on the site, but totally understand your point. Please stand by while the necessary processes are completed.

We have a lot of open issues, suggestions and discussions (as you can probably see on GitHub) so please look to see whether anything you want to open has already been created before logging something new.

@Mastodon THX fer sharing
-
You can also expect to see us sharing more about the project outside of the Fediverse (in places like LinkedIn or YouTube) - this is so that more people can hear about a better, decentralised and more user-oriented alternative to legacy platforms.
@Mastodon it will be tricky to liberate people from legacy social media platforms. People that embrace the values and vision of the #fediverse have already migrated years ago, despite the usability issues. New opportunities do come when there are major shocks, like political events but luck favors the prepared: #bluesky grew a lot as of late because of a smoother UX and catering in particular to US users fleeing X/Tweeter.
Tough job but failure not an option

@Mastodon Can you please have an algorithm so people can find posts relevant to them? It's the biggest issue for me to convince other users

@Mastodon Good luck, I hope all proposed changes and taken actions will turn out to be good for the platform and for the account holders of the #fediverse.
In support of your decision to not accept VC funds, I just made a small donation.
Thank you, and Godspeed!
