We Don’t Surrender: Merging Canada Into The U.S. Would Be Too Absurdly Difficult To Even Discuss
-
You don’t know that, and Project 2025 states that foreign affairs must be subject to national interests. The GOP is prioritizing access to strategic minerals as a long term goal. DT has stated the annex desire repeatedly and consistently.
At the least, the economic assault is not a distraction, and it is obviously the initial stage in an escalation. People are already affected, and pissed.
-
Yep, occupied territory doesn’t have much opportunity for holding defectors, because it can be hard to prevent infiltration. Behind front lines is different though.
-
The U.S. already uses the metric system in strategic areas like the military, space exploration and scientific research.
It would be quite cost prohibitive to replace all the road signs so we’re keeping the imperial system for day to day stuff.
-
That seems like a losing move for not a lot of benefit.
-
Yeah, no idea on the pros and cons of dollar coins, just that they'll never take off while there are still bills circulating.
-
It's too bad they took away all the dual marked road signs when that dick Reagan killed the conversion to metric.

The ONLY way Canada would ever even entertain considering joining the US is if they give up their guns and implement a training and licensing regime based on gun ownership being a privilege, not a right. They would have to implement universal health care and get rid of the parasite class of unnecessary profit sucking health insurance companies. They would have to agree that every citizen has the absolute right to vote, electoral boundaries must be set by a non-partisan commission, that every citizen has free and equal access to the ballot box, and elections are carried out by marking an X on a piece of paper using a stubby pencil, putting that piece of paper in a cardboard box, opening that cardboard box at the end of the night, counting the ballots, calling in the count, and declaring a winner by midnight on election day. That religious freedom means that you can practice your religion however you want right up until it has any effect on anyone other than you and then it stops and that religious freedom is NOT the right to discriminate. That everyone is equal, has the right to love and marry whoever they want. That workers have rights, get vacation, sick leave, parental leave, bereavement leave, and that those things are entitlements. That free speech doesn't include hate speech, racism, discrimination, harassment, or doxing.
That's just a start. If you can't agree to those conditions then it's a non-starter.

Anchoring is legitimately a negotiation technique where you start with an absurd demand to set the framing of the haggling.
Ie now the idea of expanded sea port security integration doesn't seem like a crazy thing to exchange for elimination of tariffs.
But guess what, expanded sea port security integration would drastically reduce our ability to economically pivot in the face of future tariff threats. Ie if expanded sea port security integration means the USA can prevent us from using our sea ports.
-
So stop discussing it. Dumb mfers take the bait every time.
-
My guess would be a knee jerk response like the move away from incandescent bulbs.
I barely even use cash at this point so I'm not sure what the actual implications would be.
-
I'm so sick of this bullshit. No. Stop talking about it.
-
There's no discussion. Fuck off or declare war
-
Canadians don't have an effective military.
Are they suggesting they would resist the US by force? That'd be a bad idea, way worse than joining.
-
American here, keep talking about it.
The world would be a better place if American and Canada became one country.
The only people who would lose out are Canadians, but everyone else would be better off for it.
-
Should probably include the periods in i.e.
I'm guessing you're on a phone.
-
I've noticed this bluster among Canadians.
It's just bluster. I think surrendering is in your blood thanks to the French.
-
Yeah, no. There will be no "canadian resistance."
Lol. Anyone who tries to form some resistance will just be charged with terrorism and made an example of.
You're all bark and no bite. Canadians would rather live as Americans than die as Canadians. It's just a fact of life.
-
The cold, honest truth is that Trump needed a rival.
He's literally unrivaled because Bernie lost to hillary in the 2016 primary.
I blame everyone who voted for her in the primary for why we now have 2 trump presidencies. They would rather have Trump than reduce the disparity in wealth.
Greed won, again.
-
I'm a dual citizen and I'd sooner burn my American passport. Americans who think like this can get fucked and suck Donnie's tiny fingers.
-
Winning wars and then losing the occupation is in your very recent history.
