Ok, that actually looks pretty good. Well done trailer.

Weird how just attaching a good director can completely change my perception of a film. This looked bad until I saw Edgar Wright is the director. I'm actually kind of excited now.

I don't like how they did Richard Bachman dirty like that.

Ok, so they remade one of my favorite 80s action blowouts. I'm mad that everything gets recycled. But this looks like it might actually be all right. We'll see.
It's not a Stephen King novel. It's one of the short stories King published as Bachman to check whether he really was a great writer or if his name was the primary driver in book sales.
I haven't read the story since I was a teenager, but I think this is closer to the original story. The 80s flick was a short survival period during a gameshow. This was about surviving for 30 days. I believe that was the original plot.
Can we please get some new stories from Hollywood? No? Ok, that sucks. Oh well.

I'm conflicted about this trailer. I'm really glad that it seems to stick to the original story better than the '80s Arnold movie, but it also seems to be sort of campy at the same time. I was hoping for a darker movie, but I'm not sure if it is and this is just the way the trailer was cut.
Either way, I'm in. The Running Man is one of my favorite short stories, and I wasn't a fan of the original movie. It really had nothing to do with the story, so I'm glad we're getting a new, more faithful version.
