I agree but also filler words are important. It spaces out the information, making it easier for people to digest in real time.

Saw (or rather heard) a few at a football game recently. They're still here, but at least it isn't a stadium full.

Instead we use cowbells like God and nature intended 😉

Coincidentally I was thinking about this yesterday, along with girls puffing their cheeks in selfies.

What’s the term for the guy equivalent? Is it like jaw-maxing r something? I’m happy that seems to be gone as well

Next I’d be pretty happy if EDM could stop sounding like pop music too

Duck face came to mind yesterday - randomly realized I hadn't seen duckface in the wild for a long time.

Or, alternatively, what are some old fads you wish would make a comeback?

Last week, I had to explain what pogs were to a pair of teammates, had to stop myself from starting with "back in my day, when things were good and people didn't spend so much time on their phones..."

Yeah, because many people didn't have cell phones back then. For me it was when I was maybe third grade; two or three kids out of the whole class had phones.

I think you'll be waiting a very long time. The specific words and phrases will shift, but I think filler words are just a natural consequence of thinking while speaking. Some people are better at that than me others but it's not going to disappear.

Oh wow, do you mind if I ask when pogs hit for you? I would've been in early grade school, so, maybe 94/95.

Omfg yes. I remember when Facebook had that promt next to the posting input, prefixing all statements.

"Person".. is feeling like somebody hurt me badly.

Currently waiting on people to stop using "know what I mean", "end of the day", "umm", "like", "I mean", and other filler words.

Fidgets have great therapeutic uses, just they tend to get tossed at teachers who aren't trained
