It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days

Beating Switch 1 might be a tough one. Let's see how the year 2 and 3 sales number are first.
There’s a lot of good reasons it won’t… they need a lite version… smaller, lighter, better ergo and no detachable joycons, for less money. The switch 1 lite is the version all my extended family double and triple dipped on. It was just kid friendly.
They release a version like that 2 years from now, and there’s a good chance they can keep the sales going into a new generation of kids.

It's nice. Today I was playing it with a friend. The larger display and detachable joycons are great for easy socializing activities. Besides Nintendo first party games I have no intent to buy any single player games for this console. But anything local multiplayer, I'm all over that. Ya I hope someday PC handhelds can become ubiquitous local multiplayer machines that weigh about the same as a Switch 2. I just don't think they're there yet. Eventually someday but it's a nascent developing form factor for PCs. For now I'm happy to have a Switch 2 and a Legion Go

I am pretty sure we will get Switch 2 lite and Switch 2 OLED down the line.

What are people thinking, switch 2 vs steam deck, and switch 2 vs switch 1?
I still play my switch often, not sure which way to jump if I were to upgrade.
wrote last edited by [email protected]It depends. Do you want to play witch 2 exclusives and don't have a pc? Then switch 2, you don't have an option there.
Do you want to play 3rd party games or nintendo preswitch (and actually some switch games too)? Deck, the games will be cheaper, you can buy bundles, you won't have to pay for online, you can install from steam, gog, epic, etc. It's a pc.
As you already have a switch, I'd wait on the 2 if you don't need to play MK World right now. If you wish you could play PC and older console games on the go get a deck (I did and it's great) but if you don't care much about the PC backlog you can just wait until the 2 has some more exclusives our and/or you cand find it cheaper. I'm currently revisiting some PS2 games alongside newer indie titles and it's very cool.

has Nintendo already enacted the "we can brick your device whenever we want to" policy?
I saw a YouTube video claiming someone got their switch 2 bricked already. Didn't watch the video itself, so I don't know the details, but I assume a mod attempt was made.
