You'd still have to pay for customs, insurance and a license plate, at least in my country. Customs is 10% of the car's worth plus transport cost, so it would still be cheaper but not by much anymore

Nope, because every damn VW dealership will mark it up to stupid levels. If they can’t make money suckering you in for maintenance, they are going to take it off the top. Hell, right now there suing because VAG is trying a different approach for Scout sales.

2026? Are they mad? Renault and stellantis already have cheaper models, not to mention Koreans and Chinese. Very late to the party for VW.
