The headline has "may have" in its explanation. May have doesn't mean "because".
The article is paywalled, but even the headline is suggesting a correlation, not causation.

Anyone aware of Israels position, and the history of how/why Israel has its wars ended for it, understands what happened.
Especially given this is literally the same treaty that has been signed by Hamas since February.
