@[email protected] a lot of the one-click services for NodeBB are run by third parties, so you'll have to reach out to them for help.

I don't usually recommend one or the other, but I do know @[email protected] is on the fediverse... πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Bulletin boards (a.k.a., "forums") have never gone away. Actually, they're more popular than ever.

Reddit, for example, is basically a giant bulletin board.

Facebook Groups are forums -- bolted onto Facebook itself -- and probably a major reason people still use Facebook.

Numerous help desk software, such as Zendesk, use bulletin boards as a major selling point of their platform.

And the reason why @[email protected] federating is such a big deal is because a major request many people have regarding the #Fediverse is bulletin board capabilities. This now exists with NodeBB 4.0.0 -- which was just released today.

@[email protected] Congrats, and thanks to you and NodeBB for doing the work -- and NLNet for the funding! It's really exciting to see ... and timely, too!

@ex_06 @julian although I am very excited about federation, due to my burnout and financial situation I haven't been able to pursue this feature and we dropped it from our NLnet grant. I'm hoping to dive into it again as part of a future 2.x release.

@[email protected] if we're splitting hairs, I'd actually argue that Reddit, Lemmy, PieFed, and mBin are actually link aggregators.
