... making the lesser increase seem less gouge-y.

      Door in the face technique.

Outer worlds 1 was really fun, but I would put it in the $40 dollar tier of games. Above assassin's creed, but not rdr2 quality or anything. Unless 2 really outshines 1, I'll be waiting until it's down to that level

Outer Worlds reminded me of one of those cheap jewel-case-only games you’d find in a bargain bin at the Future Shop in the 90s. It was worth maybe $20 when it was new, as it was rather dull and obviously unfinished. Reducing their price to $70 USD (which is still mad) isn’t going to improve their pre-sales much. The first game doesn’t have a great reputation and neither does Microsoft. Anything over $50 is incredibly ambitious in this economy.

I disagree, it was fun, it was a good game - it just wasn't worth 60 dollars.

                    $70 is still crazy.

The original one was OK. Not great, but OK. Felt and played like a $40 game. Felt much better for $20 on sale.

This idea that $70 should be the baseline for games is insane on its own. Tbh, some of the most fun games I have played with the best replay values have been sub-$30.

I'm glad I played it on Game Pass, let's put it that way.
