I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I need more general recommendations.

Kottke.org has long been a favorite. Still a favorite, but has started almost exclusively covering political shit. For good reason, but fair warning.

Someone asked this a few days ago. Here's my unfiltered CVS export. Pro-audio, Apple nerdery, geek news, blogs, etc. There are sites in here that have since retired, as pointed out by a user in that thread. I don't get an error by them not publishing, so I haven't bothered to remove them.

I think the problem is on your end. It’s extremely easy to recommend a book. Watch:

                  You should read Ancillary Justice.

The implicit part of OPs question is ".. that I might want to read.".

The correct answer to OPs question is to provide a full listing of something like feedly's RSS feeds. Millions and millions of them.

This is why one frames a question (gives constraints) so that the answer is immediately useful to the questionnaire.

give me a good rss reader, and I'll give you my list of feeds. I haven't checked on them in years, since google reader shut down.

Are you aware that things exist which appeal to wide audiences? That some things are generally liked by most people? I can recommend things like that without having to be aware of your specific tastes.

I'm using QuiteRSS and like it a lot. Taskbar applet works with i3 too, which is nice.

The implicit part of OPs question is ".. that I might want to read.".

The correct answer to OPs question is to provide a full listing of something like feedly's RSS feeds. Millions and millions of them.

This is why one frames a question (gives constraints) so that the answer is immediately useful to the questionnaire.

I don't buy that implicit part. I'm sure they want to find feeds they'd also enjoy, but there is a genuine joy in finding out what other people are into, even if it doesn't all appeal to you.

I take their question at face value.

Oh it didn't even occur to me to subscribe to webcomics. Thanks for this!

KOReader. You can put it on android or your e-reader and when you sync the feeds it converts them to .epub format
