Trump’s attempts to denigrate Zelenskyy have led to a surge in Ukrainian unity
-
USA is completely solidifying itself as the entire world’s enemy.
-
I don't know, is China arresting people who protest the war and throwing them at frontlines in Russia? "Front or fifty years of gulag for high treason" kind of voluntary recruitment?
-
The one thing I hope I can look forward to in the future is Ukraine winning and reading a news report about Zelenskyy retiring and just enjoying life post-war
-
If I'm understanding it correctly he can't just stop and he can't run an election. He was the last elected official is well liked by his people and most of the world, he could appoint someone but that seems more dictatorial or monarchist than holding an office I think most everyone would rather not hold at the moment.
-
There are two very good reasons not to have an election there right now
1: they just don't have the time for it, they are fighting for their lives and country.
- A sudden strategy shift, even if it's a good one, has the potential to put their army in disarray.
More important, it's just more projection. He's a dictator. Not me
-
Yeah, the only people who aren't united against Trump are Americans.
-
The anthem itself is bilingual. Singing it in French is every bit as appropriate as singing it in English.
-
fuck you.
-
Yup exactly.
-
Also, elections would create announced gatherings of people, perfect targets for a force that abandoned all humanity
-
“I need ammo, not a ride” is fully equivalent to “We will fight on the beaches”.
Even more so since unlike Zelensky, there weren't enemy death squads looking for Churchill in London at the time of that speech.
-
Yeah, but that might be because Trump panders to the ideologically radical part of their base and promises a vision of the US that is different than how it looks like. I sincerely think he represents hope for change to those people, however fucked up that is.
You guys need a leftist Trump, not the mentally disabled part, but the "actually fights for an ideology and vision" part. Like pack the courts, make Republicans fight in the courts to strike down unconstitutional orders for socialized healthcare, appoint an AG that puts people like Trump in prison, or just well... do something.

fuck russia. fuck the american people as they had a vote.

the entire world’s enemy.
Except for Russia. They are getting real cozy with Putin.
-
Isn’t it pretty standard to postpone elections in wartime?
-
I don't know any country that runs an election in wartime, on top of the thought that Russia could easily manipulate those elections from outside to further destabilize the country.
-
I dunno about that.
I wouldn't be more willing to die in a losing war just because donald trump said zelensky was bad or something.
Seems like this is just propaganda to convince useful idiots that Ukraine isn't currently getting routed and cover-up their massive desertion and recruitment problems.
This is the reality of war, everyone. If you were "gung-ho" about Ukraine decimating the incompetent Russians, you may have fallen for propaganda.
Hopefully you can learn from it in the future so you can recognize it when you see it again.

Yeah, the only people who aren’t united against Trump are Americans.
The 70 million people who voted against him aren't against him...?
-
California should secede.
All blue states should, honestly. They're the ones carrying the red states on their backs.

Old bit of political wisdom.
"The Dems fall in love and the GOP falls in line."
Bill Clinton would have wiped the floor with George Bush Jr. but Al Gore, with the exact same policies as Bill was edged out. [let's not get into the SCOTUS, Bill would have taken plenty of states W. took]
