Try this fun prank next time a coworker wanders off and leaves their PC unlocked!

Rather than changing the cell size, just send 3 or 4 copies to the printer. Way faster

It'd have to be a bit more than 3 or 4 since you're likely increasing exponentially by increasing the size and cells can get big.

It pulls up the print document page on 99% of programs where it's relevant

No, an increase in cell size would increase page count multiplicatively. Cells twice as tall would print the same amount as printing twice

I was thinking in length and height, of course. Doubling both quadruples pages, and that's assuming you stop at twice the size.

Except that the printer paper runs out very quickly, so this is pointless.

☝️🤓 that would still only be a quadratic rate of increase, not an exponential rate of increase

Oh my god we finally did it, we finally went paperless as a species for long enough that someone doesn’t know what a printer is. I never thought I’d live to see the day, but it makes me very happy that we’ve finally gotten here.

But won’t excel detect there’s no values and no print anything?

I think it has logic to only print pages which have values.

                      1. Type “.” In A1

                      2. Change the fill colour of A1 to Black

                      3. [CTRL] + [A] (Selects all cells)

                      4. [CTRL] + [R] (Copy’s the left most selected column across to the right most select column)

                      5. [CTRL] + [D] (Copy’s the top most selected column down to the bottom most select column)

Every cell will now contain the value “.” and be set to fill colour black.

                      1. Right click any of the column letters at the top > Set width > 1000. (Changes the column width to 1000 pixels. (Expanding the cells so they take up more room when printing)

                      2. Right click any of the row numbers at the left hand side > Set height > 1000. (Changes the row height to 1000 pixels. (Expanding the cells so they take up more room when printing)

                      3. [CTRL] + [P] (Opens up the print dialog)

                      4. [ENTER] (Selects the print button to start printing)

Easy, remove the black pages when it runs out of paper, and someone will inevitably come by to refill it and continue the fun.

Only if the printer is hooked up, otherwise it creates a new tab. You are making some very dangerous assumptions.

It's entirely possible they just click the printer icon to print things. A lot of people do not use hotkeys

                                      Just tested. It's Ctrl+right, not Ctrl+left.

Edit: also, no-one says that the cell size has to remain default. 34 million pages is rookie numbers.
