May be part deliberate, but could just be super tuning to what they know. It is deliberately handling things in a way that works 'better' in a way that doesn't follow standards, and has been common with whatever browser has the largest proportion of users for a long, long time.

What a terrible idea. You don’t fight bad behavior with more bad behavior. Lead by example. The open internet should be open to all. Majority of the people using Chrome aren’t the ones making these decisions.
