The way I reason it, the Windows Desktop that AWS spawns in done on a Linux-based VM in the cloud. AWS then creates a VPN to the workplace to make it seem like it shares the same subnet as the compute nodes. I think that's how this works. If so, I'm wondering if I can just SSH either into that VM and access the VPN that way, or if AWS itself offers some kind of service that extends the VPN directly to me.

I got those same specs for like 250$ on a used dell latitude that supports ubuntu natively lol. And runs other distros perfectly too.

Or you can just remove snap. I have been running a up-to-date snap-free ubuntu for 2 years

Maybe it's a dangling dependency process that keeps crashing.

The humour is so dry I need to take it with a cup of tea or two. I love it.

It is nice to have guard rails like a GUI until you grasp the possibilities, but you can still mess things up plenty with this tool.
