i've wondered if it's partially correct but missing important context, like how it turns out autistic people are actually generally really good at communicating with other autistic people. like what it feels like to me is that autistic people can be better at reading people, we just aren't born with a cheat sheet in our brains, so we first have to learn to identify things and then we can pattern recognition the shit out of it.

Good question. Thinking about it, I believe you can still smoke if you're eating outside at a restaurant.

That's not a footpath, it's a clearing or a small road even. You can't see the footpaths in winter, they're about a foot wide if that. 30 meters "at best"? Nah bruv. Maybe in the summer for that specific place, but as there's a ton of birch there and such an open place, it's probably a photo from the edge of a clearing on the side of a field or something. You don't get birch in most of the forests, it's just pine, and pine doesn't really have branches on the low part of trees. So in a pine forest, you'd see way further. tips and tricks for surviving the coming collapse Teaching Finns how to fight in wintery forests? We've a saying for that; "älä yritä opettaa isääs nussimaa".

I'm playing games at home. I'm running models at home (I linked in other similar answers to it) for benchmarking. My point is that models are just like anything I bring into my home I try to only buy products that are manufactured properly. Someone else in this thread asked me about child labor for electronics and IMHO that was actually a good analogy. You here mention buying a microwave and that's another good example. Yes, if we do want to establish feedback in the supply chain, we must know how everything we rely on is made. It's that simple. There are already quite a few initiatives for that with e.g. coffee with Fair Trade Certification or ISO 14001, in electronics Fair Materials, etc. The point being that there are already mechanisms for feedback in other fields and in ML there are already model cards with a co2_eq_emissions field, so why couldn't feedback also work in this field?

Yeah I was watching an automation tech working on a cell that moves sheets of glass a while ago. He was done and I was bored so I watching him wrap things up and he offered to show me how fast they can move. He turned the speed from its production value to like 50% of its max acceleration and holy fuck those things can move. I was blown away by how fast it was while not being anywhere near the firmware max speeds.
